Sarah Bond Says Fans Will Soon Be Able To Play PlayStation Studios Games On An Xbox Device

Much has been said recently about Microsoft's push to put Xbox games onto rival platforms, including PS5, and with the recent announcement of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 moving over, the team clearly isn't slowing down. However, we now know that the definition of 'Xbox' is changing, and Sarah Bond has been quick to remind fans that the ROG Xbox Ally is going to blur those lines even further.

In a new interview with Japanese outlet Game Watch, the Xbox president was asked about future plans for porting to PS5. Bond quickly batted away that part of the question, before offering a side-note and reminding folks that the ROG Xbox Ally will enable fans to play PlayStation Studios games on an Xbox device - even if that device is basically a PC.

Here's that answer, roughly translated:

"Sorry, I can't share that information [about more Xbox games on PS5] at this time [...] As an aside, ROG Xbox Ally can also play PlayStation Studios titles (such as Marvel's Spider-Man) that are available on PC."

This is clearly something Microsoft is keen to offer; a way to play those famous Sony titles on some sort of Xbox in the wake of its games going the other way. It's great that the ROG Xbox Ally will be able to provide that with its multi-store approach, but it's not quite the same as what Microsoft is delivering with proper native ports for PS5 players.

Still, we're intrigued to see if Xbox continues to push this message in a more official capacity once the ROG Xbox Ally is out in the wild. We've seen the team bang on about multiple storefronts for a while now, but Microsoft certainly hasn't gone as far as advertising PS Studios games on the handheld device. Will that change in the future? We'll just have to wait and see, we suppose.

Do you think this is fair thing for Sarah Bond to point out? Talk to us about these blurred lines down below.
