Two Major Free-To-Play Games Are Launching On Xbox This Week

Two major free-to-play games were listed in our next week on Xbox roundup this past weekend, and so we thought we'd properly bring your attention to them before the madness of Summer Game Fest hits us over the next few days.

The first of these is Splitgate 2, which is the sequel to the highly popular Halo-like FPS known as Splitgate. This sequel is actually available right now in open beta form if you want to play it, but the official launch takes place on Friday, with the development team set to highlight its release as part of the Summer Game Fest 2025 livestream.

Zenless Zone Zero is the other major free-to-play game heading to Xbox this week, and we've highlighted the "urban fantasy ARPG" a few times here at Pure Xbox - it's proved extremely popular on mobile in particular with millions of downloads, while it was also a year-long console exclusive for PS5 prior to its release on Xbox this Friday.

You can find out more details about both of these games down below, and special starter packs are also available on the Xbox Store right now if you're interested. Alternatively, just pick up the free versions and play them at no charge!

Splitgate 2 (June 6)

Splitgate 2 is the only free-to-play shooter with portals, delivering next-level gunplay, fluid movement, and a variety of game modes in an evolving experience. Welcome to the future of sport.

Outsmart and outmaneuver with the power of portals. Chain your portals, dodge danger, and pull off plays impossible in any other game using momentum-based movement and teleportation tactics.

Zenless Zone Zero (June 6)

Zenless Zone Zero is an all-new 3D action game from HoYoverse that takes place in a near future, with the world plagued by a mysterious disaster known as "Hollows." With its carefully crafted character expressions and fluid movements, you'll easily feel immersed in the fascinating world as you embark on your own journey.
