Xbox Game Pass is one of the best deals in gaming, offering countless games from across three generations of Xbox for a low monthly price. Whether you're looking for a new title recommendation or you want to share some of the service's hidden gems, feel free to talk all things Xbox Game Pass here!

I’m subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate, I just renewed it this morning but couldn’t take advantage of deals like £10.99 for the first 3 months so had to settle for £1 for the first month. That’s the thing with Game Pass once you’ve subscribed you cannot take advantage of any deals unless you let your subscription run out or use the deals from sites like Amazon, just recently there was a deal where you paid £32.99 for 6 months, basically getting an extra 3 months for free.

I’ll still pay £10.99 each month and know I’m getting a great online service and decent games added to Game Pass.

@MaccaMUFC I did the £32.99 for 6 months deal the other day. I just tend to let my subscription run until I see a deal I really want to take advantage of.

Can't afford to let it run out entirely... I use Game Pass too much!

Hah I was playing (or more like, watching my brother play using my account) Wolfenstein 2 and it was getting good.

Then bam, it was removed from gamepass.

I should probably pay more attention to that. Now we'll need to buy it eventually to finish the story.

@Eel The staff here does a good job posting articles when games are leaving Gamepass. For example

https://www.purexbox.com/news/2020/05/another_7_games_are_lea...

I usually the very least glance these type of articles to have a heads up when something is going to leave. I was thinking of replaying Mega Man 10 on the Legacy Collection 2 but saw that it was leaving this week so that quickly changed my mind.

@Tasuki I have to admit I didn't know this page existed again until yesterday. And I hadn't been very active on the Xbox until my brother decided he wanted to play this one.

@Eel You must have missed Ant's announcement a few weeks ago on NL that Pure Xbox is back.

@KratosMD that approach makes sense if you’re playing shorter games! I’ve been playing Red Dead 2 - and I guess the cost to access it through Game Pass versus buying a retail copy is probably actually higher. But if I think the $ for the experience each month is worth it... Edith Finch, Ape Out and Journey to the Savage Planet are all worth the relatively short time spend to get into them. Good luck!

@KratosMD agree. Top flight indie games I wouldn’t take a risk on for $20-30 are kind of perfect for it. I also use it between retail purchases to be able to wait for sales on the games I do want. So there’s an element of saving that way (e.g. get game pass now to tide you over until Black Friday sales)

Finally took advantage of that upgrade deal for Gold so now have Gamepass until September next year for just under £40. I use gamepass mainly for indie games and Microsoft exclusives, I'm going to download The Messenger, Streets of Rogue and Soul Calibur 6 as I've been curious about that and it's a great way to see if I might like some of the bigger games

Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.

As for games I have played, Panzer Dragoon Orta is fantastic and even includes the original as an unlockable, Blazing Chrome is a love letter to the 16 bit Contra games and is one of the few indie games that gets the look of those titles and After Party was another that I found pretty funny and had a good story

I think Game Pass might actually be a blessing for me. I've been subscribed to it for the past month and I haven't bought any games at all during that time. I usually buy numerous games each month for over €100 and now I'm only paying €15 for Game Pass Ultimate each month, which means that Game Pass is indirectly helping me save money through its service. I've never experienced something like this, it's quite wonderful actually.

I genuinely believe this will be how I game in the future, because it's not sustainable for me to keep buying games and just putting them away in storage once I'm finished with them. It costs a lot of money and takes up a lot of space. I'll still buy select games that I'm a huge fan of, but being a variety gamer requires a lot of money which I'd rather save up. So I'm really glad that a service like this exists.

Yeah, Game Pass saves a lot of money. For me now, it is just one game here and there that I have to buy, and usually they have been cheap. I don't have that much time anymore, and it is nice to try new games.

Why there are 2 redundant gamepass threads?

Senua

LtSarge

@Justifier Yeah I've realised that the older I get the less interested I am in buying new games. It just doesn't make sense for me anymore since I just want to play them, I don't want to own them anymore.

@Z3u5000 The other thread is a Game Club where we play through and discuss a specific game every couple of weeks. This is the general thread for Game Pass.

One issue that Microsoft is actively/unintentionally (depending on how you want to see it) addressing now regarding Game Pass is games leaving the service. For example, now with the acquisition of ZeniMax, games like Skyrim, Fallout, DOOM, Evil Within, Dishonoured etc. will be permanently available on Game Pass, meaning that you'll have all the time in the world to play through them. Same goes for future titles!

Let's hope that they put DOOM Eternal and Wolfenstein II into Game Pass soon.

I was planning to buy doom eternal deluxe edition physical in black Friday sales so this has thrown a wrench in that plan. Oh well I'll still buy it and justify it because it comes with the season pass 🙄

See ya!
