Topic: Locked out of account and Frustrated!

Hello
New to this but I signed up so I don't have to do password on my new Xbox S. One day I go on and it is making me sign in and saying pass word is incorrect. I tried to do the code to email and Text. Didn't receive one for either. Tried this for a week straight with nothing. I tried to get ahold of someone through Xbox which is all AI so have had no help. Now I think I am locked out for good and cant retrieve anything. I even did the password retrieval form 12 times with no response even after a week. Need help. How can I get this back?

Hey Punisher,

Xbox Support is your only official route for getting help about this:

However, it sounds like you might have been hit by a bug that's currently affecting passwords on Xbox. The Xbox Support team are looking into it (as of May 15th), but there's been no resolution yet as far as I'm aware.

We talked about this in more detail last week:

Have a look through that, maybe try the workarounds they suggest, and then Xbox Support is your next best option for help. Otherwise, it might be a case of waiting a bit longer until they fix this password issue, and then hopefully you'll be OK.

Thank you. Just so frustrating because the normal steps to recovery or change password just wont work. I am guessing this is the bug because code will not send to email or text. Hopefully they fix soon because I have soo many games saved on that account. Will I recieve an email when issue is fixed or am I just going to keep trying every 24 hours?

@Punisher50cl719 Based on past experience, the only way they'll confirm it has been fixed is via a post on the Xbox Support Twitter account:

Keep an eye on that for updates about the issue, and then once it's been fixed, hopefully you'll be good to go. Otherwise, get back in touch with Xbox Support and you should eventually be able to get a resolution at some point... it might just be difficult getting through all the AI stuff along the way.

It does seem strange that even the password request form isn't working though... it's definitely linked to the right email account and everything, yeah?
