Re: Expect to See Much More Voice Recognition in Core Games

Aye I saw that Haunt thing, was thinking, urm where is our free game here in europe? Also, I have been a Gold member since day one as well, I just let my membership lapse these days. What i do now is not subscribe then pick up the offer of Gold for £1 for one month and make sure i turn off auto renewal, been doing that for ages now. In reality that offer is another kick in the teeth for regular Gold subscribers, as I am getting Gold cheaper than loyal people auto renew. Once that offer runs out they can shove their "gold" service. I also own a PS3 & vita, and am loving all the offers they have on the PSP titles each week, some of the PS3 stuff aint bad either. Microsoft deserve to fail after how they treat their loyal customers. I mean why don't they have a similar thing to Nintendo, you buy a full retail release game, input a code on XBOXLIVE and get some sort of reward similar to Nintendo Stars (only better) discount on downloadable games. The same could be done with the hardware, (I've replaced mine plenty of times in the past due to it breaking) ...but no! too greedy.

I wish they would hurry up and release this then I can decide whether to put this bit of ugly plastic back in it's box for good.

Re: Expect to See Much More Voice Recognition in Core Games

Yeah, I was just trying to think of a reason to choose a 360 over a PS3, I don't think there is many any more due to 90% of titles going multi format. Like you say, Halo, maybe Gears of War? not exactly that interested in those games anymore. They would have to do something amazing hardware wise to get me to buy a 360 come the next "next" gen of machines.

Re: Crimson Dragon Swoops On Japan on 13th June

Ok, I am slightly worried now. It's not that I think there are not some awesome XboxLive downloadable games, but I thought this would be a boxed retail release. I can see this just been an excuse for another short mediocre tech demo type game. Hopefully I am wrong.

Re: First Impressions: Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor

Sounds promising. I think developers should incorporate some leeyway into some commands though as Kinect is obviously not as accurate as Microsoft led us all to believe. This and Crimson Dragon are the last two Kinect titles I may buy now.

Re: This Video Wants to Convince You Kinect Star Wars Has Depth

Yeah, the only thing I was interested in was the lightsaber combat stuff. I've got a feeling that they added all the extra things because that part of the game isn't that great. All I wanted was a massive story adventure with you kicking butt fighting with a lightsaber, but now we seem to have what appears to be another "party" mini game release.

Re: Peter Molyneux to Leave Microsoft After Fable: The Journey

Well after all the hype of Fable I thought it was pretty rubbish, a big letdown, and lets face it, Fable the Jounrney is hardly going to be amazing. I am not sure what other games he made while at Microsoft, but if that was it, I don't think he will be much of a loss.

Re: Kinect Star Wars Console Unboxed Before Your Eyes

I don't think much of it to be honest. The R2 sounds off, the design, well if someone didn't tell you it was based on R2D2 I doubt you would know, and £300+ for a 8 year bit of hardware that will be getting replaced soon is kind of a lot to pay.

Re: Talking Point: What's Kinect Doing Right or Wrong?

teamdoa

Well, it doesn't help when more than half the reviews are mediocre. There are only two games on the horizon that interest me, one was meant to be out this year, Star Wars, so that is major dissapointment. The other, Steel Battalion still doens't have a release date.

The other major drawback is the hardware is dated already. Virtually the reviews you read site that the controls are "laggy" This could have been avoided by using better hardware.

Re: Video Proof That Kids Love Kinect

teamdoa

I also I just want to say, I have nothing against Kinect, just the quality of a majority of the titles Microsoft seem to be happy with as the large majority is shovelware. I do agree, Child of Eden was a good game, but it was more of a tech demo, something that would have been more at home as a downloadbale XBOX Live title as it is so short. I think one of the main reasons why Kinect won't get that much better is the fact the hardware is underpowered already.

Re: Video Proof That Kids Love Kinect

teamdoa

That TV looks small considering how far back they are.

@AppleSprode "You say that as if the quality of releases has dropped" Yes, it went from a few good titles, then terrible unless you want to buy games aimed at children.

Re: Review: Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Hunting Party (Xbox 360)

teamdoa

I also just want to add, every game review seems to mention lag as to why the game isn't very good. From what I gather, Microsoft decided to cheapen the hardware by removing certain "chips" in order to make it more affordable, but at the expense of the actual performance of the hardware.

Re: Video Proof That Kids Love Kinect

teamdoa

Looks like they have now decided Kinect is for "kids" or using it as an excuse for the quality of their current crop of releases. If it is aimed at kids I guess they think they can get away with the quality,

Re: Review: Grease Dance (Xbox 360)

I actually feel sorry for the people wrting the reviews now, pretty much all the games for Kinect are garbage. I did hold some hope, but they seem to like pushing out utter rubbish.
