Aye I saw that Haunt thing, was thinking, urm where is our free game here in europe? Also, I have been a Gold member since day one as well, I just let my membership lapse these days. What i do now is not subscribe then pick up the offer of Gold for £1 for one month and make sure i turn off auto renewal, been doing that for ages now. In reality that offer is another kick in the teeth for regular Gold subscribers, as I am getting Gold cheaper than loyal people auto renew. Once that offer runs out they can shove their "gold" service. I also own a PS3 & vita, and am loving all the offers they have on the PSP titles each week, some of the PS3 stuff aint bad either. Microsoft deserve to fail after how they treat their loyal customers. I mean why don't they have a similar thing to Nintendo, you buy a full retail release game, input a code on XBOXLIVE and get some sort of reward similar to Nintendo Stars (only better) discount on downloadable games. The same could be done with the hardware, (I've replaced mine plenty of times in the past due to it breaking) ...but no! too greedy.
The thing that really annoys me about the 360 is how rubbish their "deals" are compared with the PSN. They really do need to start discounting downloadable games, the good ones.
Yeah, I was just trying to think of a reason to choose a 360 over a PS3, I don't think there is many any more due to 90% of titles going multi format. Like you say, Halo, maybe Gears of War? not exactly that interested in those games anymore. They would have to do something amazing hardware wise to get me to buy a 360 come the next "next" gen of machines.
Yep, totally agree with above. Mine is going back in its box after I see what Crimson Dragon turns out like. The device promissed so much but pretty much failed due to poor hardware.
Ok, I am slightly worried now. It's not that I think there are not some awesome XboxLive downloadable games, but I thought this would be a boxed retail release. I can see this just been an excuse for another short mediocre tech demo type game. Hopefully I am wrong.
Sounds promising. I think developers should incorporate some leeyway into some commands though as Kinect is obviously not as accurate as Microsoft led us all to believe. This and Crimson Dragon are the last two Kinect titles I may buy now.
As if you would trust such an important game to this developer. Microsoft should have hired the best of the best for this. Whoever managed this whole project needs the sack. Just check out their website and look the amazing gaming pedigree they have = http://www.terminalreality.com/games/
Well, Star Wars Kinect has ended up a big let down. There are now only two games worth holding onto your Kinect for in the hope they end up being good, this and Crimson Dragon.
Yeah, the only thing I was interested in was the lightsaber combat stuff. I've got a feeling that they added all the extra things because that part of the game isn't that great. All I wanted was a massive story adventure with you kicking butt fighting with a lightsaber, but now we seem to have what appears to be another "party" mini game release.
Well after all the hype of Fable I thought it was pretty rubbish, a big letdown, and lets face it, Fable the Jounrney is hardly going to be amazing. I am not sure what other games he made while at Microsoft, but if that was it, I don't think he will be much of a loss.
Funny every review pretty much says something about the detection being ropey, I think you may have hit the nail on the head with this Kinect hardware.
No surprise there then. An over populated country where space is limited, not the best place to sell something that requires a football pitch in order to use it effectively.
I don't think much of it to be honest. The R2 sounds off, the design, well if someone didn't tell you it was based on R2D2 I doubt you would know, and £300+ for a 8 year bit of hardware that will be getting replaced soon is kind of a lot to pay.
Well, it doesn't help when more than half the reviews are mediocre. There are only two games on the horizon that interest me, one was meant to be out this year, Star Wars, so that is major dissapointment. The other, Steel Battalion still doens't have a release date.
The other major drawback is the hardware is dated already. Virtually the reviews you read site that the controls are "laggy" This could have been avoided by using better hardware.
I also I just want to say, I have nothing against Kinect, just the quality of a majority of the titles Microsoft seem to be happy with as the large majority is shovelware. I do agree, Child of Eden was a good game, but it was more of a tech demo, something that would have been more at home as a downloadbale XBOX Live title as it is so short. I think one of the main reasons why Kinect won't get that much better is the fact the hardware is underpowered already.
That TV looks small considering how far back they are.
@AppleSprode "You say that as if the quality of releases has dropped" Yes, it went from a few good titles, then terrible unless you want to buy games aimed at children.
I also just want to add, every game review seems to mention lag as to why the game isn't very good. From what I gather, Microsoft decided to cheapen the hardware by removing certain "chips" in order to make it more affordable, but at the expense of the actual performance of the hardware.
Looks like they have now decided Kinect is for "kids" or using it as an excuse for the quality of their current crop of releases. If it is aimed at kids I guess they think they can get away with the quality,
I actually feel sorry for the people wrting the reviews now, pretty much all the games for Kinect are garbage. I did hold some hope, but they seem to like pushing out utter rubbish.

Re: Crimson Dragon Delayed
I wish they would hurry up and release this then I can decide whether to put this bit of ugly plastic back in it's box for good.

Re: Expect to See Much More Voice Recognition in Core Games
Couldn't they have just done this before and used the headset mic instead of using Kinect. :S
Re: Review: Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor (Xbox 360)
Yep, one last game worth holding out for, Crimson Dragon, then that is it as far as I can see.
Oh, and good review by the way.
Re: Crimson Dragon Delayed
Well that sucks. I was hoping to get some reviews from the Japanese release.
Re: Out Today: Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor Demo
Wow, I was actually impressed with the demo, seems to play nice with the pad and Kinect. I also love the adult nature of the game.
Re: Crimson Dragon Swoops On Japan on 13th June

Re: Get Hot with a Summer Stars Trailer
The wheels on the bike are not even round...
Re: Skyrim Will Get Kinect Support
Pity I bought it on Steam.

Re: Review: Kinect Star Wars (Xbox 360)
Yeah it was in my opinion. Actually, Ghost Busters might have been a fun Kinect title.

Re: This Video Wants to Convince You Kinect Star Wars Has Depth
Saying all that, I will still buy it. Does anyone know what the pre-order bonuses will be? I saw one, which was Aurra Sing. Are there any others?
Re: This Video Wants to Convince You Kinect Star Wars Has Depth

Re: Former Sony Executive Joins Microsoft Studios in Europe
He has that face you just want to slap.
Re: New Kinect Star Wars Trailer Shows the Force
I think you can pass utter rubbish off as being "ok" if it is aimed at a younger audience.
Re: Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor "Nearly Complete"
One of the other games I am keeping an eye on, looks promissing.
Re: Project Draco Officially Named Crimson Dragon
This looks awesome, hopefully it will be.
Re: Kinect Star Wars Release Date Confirmed
Looking forward to this, but, I dunno those latest shots look like the graphics have taken a hit.
Re: Kinect for Windows Available Now
Wait a minute, so how come there wasn't a revision to the 360 Kinect hardware?
Also, can you not hook up the 360 Kinect hardware to the PC?
Re: Review: Haunt (Xbox Live Arcade)
I was waiting for the review. I think I will pick this up, looks fun and it is only 800 msp
Re: Haunt Wants to Scare Your Family Witless Next Week
Out today, I wonder if this can score more than 5.
Re: Ubisoft Closes MotionSports: Adrenaline Developer
Hmm, why am I not suprised.
Re: Even Kinect Star Wars Succumbs to Kinect Dance Mania
I think this is Kinects only hope....hopefully they make a good game out of it.
Re: Review: Victorious: Time to Shine (Xbox 360)
It is still a puddle.
"but considering the target audience developer High Voltage can hardly be blamed for it"
Oh, yes, yes they can!
Re: Review: Jillian Michaels' Fitness Adventure (Xbox 360)
I would also be suiing these lot for ripping off Tomb Raider
Re: 750,000 Kinect Sensors Sold in Thanksgiving Week
I think those individual Kinect sensor sales have been hidden somewhat with people buying the console with it bundled.
Re: Review: Motion Explosion (Xbox 360)
Well, a 6 to me these days is not worth buying when you compare it to the ton of 9/10 and 10/10 games out that are not Kinect.
Re: Review: Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary (Xbox 360)
So, in my opinion, the game, 8/10, Kinect usage, 2/10
Re: Review: Jillian Michaels' Fitness Adventure (Xbox 360)
Funny every review pretty much says something about the detection being ropey, I think you may have hit the nail on the head with this Kinect hardware.

Re: Rumour: Kinect 2 Capable of Reading Lips and Emotions
If you get it "free" with the next console fair enough, but I can't see much improvement with the quality of the games just because it can do this.
Re: Kinect Star Wars Console Unboxed Before Your Eyes
I don't think much of it to be honest. The R2 sounds off, the design, well if someone didn't tell you it was based on R2D2 I doubt you would know, and £300+ for a 8 year bit of hardware that will be getting replaced soon is kind of a lot to pay.

Re: Out Today: MotionSports Adrenaline and Let's Cheer Demos
It has got so bad now with Kinect I don't even bother downloading the demos as you can almost guarantee they will be utter rubbish.
Re: Review: Kinect Fun Labs: Musical Feet (Xbox Live Arcade)
Terrible, Microsoft should test these games out first before allowing them to be released. They do the product more harm than good.

Re: Review: Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Hunting Party (Xbox 360)
I think Kinect is dead now, not one AAA title apart from the Dance Central games. They should have improved the hardware before releasing it.
Re: Review: MotionSports Adrenaline (Xbox 360)
I was looking forward to the mountain biking in this, being a keen rider. I think I will pick it up when it is very cheap
