@Leuke you are absolutely spot on. How can you sit on such great IP and do nothing with it for so long? Feels like Microsoft bought Rare just to flex their muscles when they started Xbox and have never really cared about them making great games.
Today is a great reminder of me of the darkest day of my gaming life, when Microsoft bought Rare. Rare was Nintendo through and through and never recovered. I often imagine all the great games we have missed out on. Really disappointed this and Everwild are cancelled, it’s an absolute shambles!
Wow what a missed opportunity, seems like Rare has given up on developing real games now. Rather than do the new Perfect Dark or a proper Banjo Threeie they choose another online multiplayer game. Thoroughly disappointed!
I was thinking about this masterpiece the other day (as I often do) and the spirit/humour and dialogue was a big part of the magic. I’m not sure it can be replicated today because attitudes have changed a lot. I think that’s what made Rare so special back in the late 90’s they really captured a special feeling in there games, the worlds they created were just so compelling!
I don’t buy the argument you need to leave the house for a portable, I play my switch while my wife watches something else on the main tv. I play my switch when lying in bed, it’s great to have a portable even at home!
