After finishing Rise of the Ronin I felt I needed a bit of a break before playing the next "big" game which I think will be Stellar Blade but No one wants to die might slip in between. Will decide today or tomorrow š Anyways, I've been playing:
The first Descendant and Asphalt Legends Unite - both free to play, not the best games ever but suites my gaming mood for now.
Dungeons of Hinterberg - I've played for about an hour but its not what I hoped it would be. Might give it some more time but will likely drop it.
CoD MW 3 campaign - So yeah, MS finally drops a CoD on gp and its the worst game in the series š The opening mission in the campaign is pretty good, its CoD as it should be, but then the open world missions that follows are not good at all and not what I want from a CoD game. Such a shame, would have been better to not have a campaign than this ***** imo. And ffs MS, release the older CoDs on gp already!
Rise of the Ronin - Finished and platinumed. First off, I had fun playing it the whole way through. However, I really do feel it was a bit too long and bloated and I think a shorter game would have had a better focus to the story and the side/bond missions could have been a lot fewer. Also, I could be best mate with someone, end up fighting him in a story mission and then after it was back to best mate again as if nothing happened. Would be normal maybe if we were piss drunk and had a brawl in the pub and didnt remember it the next day but yeah, made choices and bonds a bit wierd in the game. All in all I enjoyed the game a lot!
The First Descendant - yeah, Im still playing. Its grown on me a bit š but its still not very good...
Asphalt Legends Unite - Im just a sucker for free to play games right now. This is pretty fun mindless arcade racing if you can ignore all the ***** around the racing itself.
Neon White - played for a little bit. The courses are really fun and addicting to play and try and master but the rest Im just not paying any attention to.
Rise of the Ronin - So IĀ“ve finally petted all the f-n cats š I have some missions left and some cleaning up for the platinum, so IĀ“ll probably give my final thoughts next week. Still fun to play, but the game is a bit too long and bloated imo. IĀ“m normally immune to open world fatigue and long games, but this one is pushing me a bit. Still, breaking it up with other games helps š
Still wakes the deep - Finished it last weekend. Really enjoyed it, especially the voice acting which was top notch. The story was good but a bit predictable, the performance on my series S wasnāt great but still, very good game!
The First Descendant - This game really isnāt very good, but it has that little something that makes me keep playing it š Missions are very repetitive, but that means I can turn my brain off and just cruise around for some shooting and looting. There is a story, it looks decent, and gameplay is ok. Its really a mixed bag of games youĀ“ve played before, but not necessarily better than any of them. So, again, not very good but pretty fun to play when IĀ“m in that mood and its free. Just donāt blame me if you try it and hate it, IĀ“ve warned you twice now its not very good š«£š
Bit of a boring update for me this week as Im still playing the same games as last week, mainly due to Rise of the Ronin being a big and long game and also cause weāre at our summer place and I left the Series S at home so only playing on it when we go back to water the plants etc but Iāve got my ps5 and ps portal with me which is an awesome combo out here and works great with both machines connected with the same phone using 5g. Anyways, here goes
Rise of the Ronin - still going strong, still petting a lot of cats. Gotta catch em all š Im almost immune to open world fatigue but I have a feeling this game will push me a bit. Still, gameplay is very fun so Iāll probably end up with the platinum in the end.
Still wakes the deep - I managed like an hour earlier in the week, really like this game. Expect Iāll be able to finish it the next time Iām able to play as its s short but imo a very good game.
Tales of Kenzera- Zau - Playing this as a great way to break up RotR, but means shorter sessions and not so much progress. Still fun š
Rise of the Ronin - its very fun to play this game regardless of its flaws. Im going bonkers clearing the map for collectibles while trying to keep focus on the main missions as well, but its just so satisfying clearing each area š Switched to japanese as well which is so much better!
Still wakes the deep - Havent played very much yet but really like it so far. Great scottish dialects and good voice acting, very good atmosphere in the game as well and it looks good but performance is not very good on the Series S. Still, looking forward to playing more!
Rise of the Ronin is fun but compared to GoT its not nearly as good as that game in any way imo. But if you can look plast the dated graphics etc its fun. But maybe best to wait for it to be on GamePass or PS Plus.
As for Destiny 2, no you cant play the campaign from start to finish anymore, which is a shame. The original campaign and some of the earlier DLC story content is gone, but I think its easier to read up on a Destiny website as its a lot to keep track of. I used to play with a clan but since I returned to Destiny Iāve played solo for the most part and there is matchmaking or you can use the in game groupfinder for Nightfall etc so thats not a problem.
Iāve played a little less than usual due to some great weather here but here goes š
Destiny 2 the Final Shape - Bungie did it! The Final Shape was a great ending to the Light and the Darkness saga, the campaign was good with a lot of nostalgia thrown in and it ended in a very satisfying way imo. I did get to finish Destiny on a high note as I hoped for with some new great memories and as planned IĀ“m dropping it now even if is kind of hard as IĀ“ve had a lot of fun but I know it will eventually outstay its welcome for me (and I donāt want to put all my gaming time on Destiny). That said, over the years Destiny has truly given me some of the greatest gaming moments of my life (like clearing Vault of Glass the first time or going flawless and reaching the Lighthouse etc) and some clan friends that keep in touch even after weĀ“ve stopped playing Destiny. Would I return for Destiny 3? Maybe⦠š
Ghostbusters VR - Nice to get this on Plus, havenāt play much but seems decent enough so IĀ“ll play more š
Rise of the Ronin - Picked it up in the sale, was planning on buying Stellar Blade but IĀ“ve had this on my wishlist for a while. Its very fun to play a few hours in, but god its ugly. Looks like a ps3 game sometimes which can be a bit distracting. However, graphics isnāt everything which this game proves pretty good. Doesnt hold a candle to Ghost of Tsushima though imo. But anyway, fun game and I might even go for the platinum. Thankfully I seem immune to open world/Ubi filler fatigue so IĀ“ll be petting a lot of cats⦠š
Lol at the fanboy comments on āXbox has no games but now they want to play themā⦠Every gamer wants to play all the good games that are out there. If you have to choose one platform to play on you pick the one that is best for you, be it Playstation, Xbox or Nintendo. Doesnt mean there arent games they want to play on other platforms.
Also, I dont believe anyone saying their ārivalā platform has no games they want to play, thats just childish fanboy *****!
Viewfinder - finished and platinumed. Very good puzzle game, pretty unique and if you like these kind of games I can really recommend it!
Destiny 2 The Final Shape - rocky launch as expected, but didnt even try to play at release given the history of previous releases š That said, Im enjoying the Final Shape. TheyĀ“ve brought back a lot of things for this, maps, locations, characters, guns that never should have been limited by power levels etc. Some very nostalgic moments so far, guessing more are to come as I havent finished the campaign yet. But I have a good feeling about this, that it might actually be a good ending to the Light and the Darkness saga. Still, IĀ“m going to put Destiny 2 down when IĀ“m done regardless of how fun it feels now. Dont want to be sucked in again, I can already feel it tugging at me, wanting all my playtime and Id rather end on a high note than playing until the inevitable wall of total fatigue and weariness hits.
Hellblade 2 - finished the game, really enjoyed it even if some parts were a bit weak perhaps. Looks absolutely gorgeous, sound is top notch and I liked the story even if it wasnt as good as in the first game imo. Basically though, you have to enjoy this type of game to find Hellblade 1&2 any good, but if you do you“re in for a treat!
Viewfinder - picked it up in the sale, been om my wishlist for a while. I“m only on level 2 but this is a fantastic puzzler imo. Really clever use of photos and perspective when solving the levels which makes it unique and very fun to play.
Tales of Kenzera ā ZAU - Pretty good platformer, enjoying it and a nice break from other games.
Destiny 2 ā waiting for The Final Shape, want to finish the story which I hope is really good and conclusive and then leave Destiny behind again with some sweet final memories. Meanwhile Im enjoying the PVP a lot more than I thought, especially Trials of Osiris which is great fun. Tried some raids but my GOD I dont have the patience nor time for that ***** anymore. That said, the gameplay is still some of the best ever, if not the best. Too bad they ***** a lot of the other stuff up.
Pretty busy week and some great weather here meant less gaming than usual but I still managed to play some š Hellblade 2 - Wow! Loved the first game, and this is better. The graphics and sound are simply amazing, and the overall experience 2-3 hours in is really great. Now, this game is not for everyone, just like the first one. Its a dark and grim walking sim for pretty long sections at a time so far, but damn its a good one! Xdefiant - I said I would play a few games and I have. Its not bad, but not great either. Theres potential, and my son likes it more than me, but I feel likes theres some work to be done if Ubi wants players to stick around. The Settlers - new allies - I played some of the tutorials and it looks the part but I didnt get that warm and cosy nostalgia I was hoping for. But it seems pretty good so I will play some more. Would be better with m&k of course but it was better than expected with a controller.
Nice review! Just read the Eurogamer review, they gave it 5 stars so good to get different takes on the game. Still, really looking forward to tonight, diving right in to this game as soon as possible
@Weebleman trying to get old Johnny boy to do or say anything but squirt green sauce all over is probably easier than trying to fit Big Phils head up your a** but not by much and about as painful š
Nice, really like this game and just played it on my ps5 but will play it again if my son want to play co-op. Might even play it again regardless, its short and emotional and very good!
@GeorgeKal Not buying the fan boy arguments for the game getting ***** just because its an Xbox game. Its just not considered that good, simple as that!
@GeorgeKal From a subjective stand point it can absolutely be the best FPS in your opinion. Looking at the bigger picture with player feedback, current player numbers, broken promises from 343I and its objectively not the best FPS ever. Not even the best Halo ever. But good for you that you like it, I was pretty dissapointed myself!
I really liked Hellblade and Im looking forward to Hellblade 2! Tried to replay Hellblade recently but it just not the type of game that you can play more than once imo.
Destiny 2 Lightfall - As I used to play Destiny 1 & 2 a lot (scary to think of how many hours its been over the years) I want to see the end of the Light and the Darkness story so its great that Lightfall is now on PS Plus as I dont want to give Bungie more money or start playing D2 again outside of the campaign. IĀ“m some missions in and its ok but not anything special. I guess it builds nicely towards The Final Shape though. However, being a lapsed player, ***** me its hard to get going. ***** is thrown at you from all sides like go here, play this, do this and it mixes old and new story parts so its really confusing. Cant imagine being a totally new player to Destiny, with all the cut content on top that makes it even harder to follow the story in the right timeline. Anyhow, once Im done with Lightfall I might wait for The Final Shape to be on plus before jumping in or I might get it at release to sort of be done with it š
A little less game time than normal this week but Iāve manager some hours at least š Immortals of Aveum - Iāve finished the story, which all things considered (including characters and such) was pretty decent. The world, gameplay, presentation and exploration are all very good imo. Iāve got two trophies left for the Platinum, which is also a very fun one. So all in all I really like the game, around 8,5/10 and would recommend anyone with PS Plus to try it out at least. Its probably not for anyone. Hope it hits GamePass soon as well. Synapse VR - Iāve reached the end of the story, think Im gonna go for the platinum as the gameplay is very fun. Suicide Squad - I had to play the trial. Its not very good. Might work with friends but solo? Nah
Robocop - I've finished and platinumed it. Really good game, old school fun and great humor. Can really recommend it! Synapse - The gameplay in this game is really fun and addicting, and as you play you unlock some cool abilities that makes it even more fun. Like being able to use kinetic powers to grab and smash enemies There are also generous save point making it easy to play in shorter bursts as well as longer sessions, I tend to play shorter sessions when playing in VR. Immortals of Aveum - Started this after finishing Robocop and I have to say I'm surprised at how much I enjoy it given the mixed reviews. The first two hours are really good imo, it might get repetetive and tedious and boring after a while but after rereading the review here on EG I dont really agree with some of the negative points, at least not yet. Interesting to see how I feel about the game in 10 hours more but right now I'm looking forward to playing more Dave the Diver - I've played a bit, and can see the appeal so I'll play more but I dont think it'll be my GOTY. But its a nice game to play in between other games Miasma Chronicles - I liked their previous game Mutant Year Zero and this game is very similar in gameplay but I feel like the setting and story in Mutant was better but I havent played for that long so it might change. Another game Im playing a short while here and there. Harold Halibut - looks absolutely amazing but plays slow and boring as hell sadly... might give it some more time though, it might grow on me
The Expanse - finished the game. It started pretty good but the last third of the game before the end wasnt quite as good as the story slowed down and the environments werent as fun. Overall though I enjoyed it!
Robocop - Im really enjoying this game. Its good, old school fun AA gaming at its best with pretty funny dialog and characters.
Synapse PSVR 2 - The game is really good and super fun and VR makes all the difference as Im not usually in to roguelikes but the gameplay and mechanics are great!
Its good that Xbox are talking about next gen so we all know there“ll be a next gen Xbox but honestly if they dont get their first party developers to consistently start releasing some great games that are best played on Xbox/GamePass I dont think it will matter much what the next Xbox is
Diablo isnt my type of game but I tried it. The opening cinematics are really cool but the gameplay just isnt for me. Its a great addition to GamePass though.
@Stoned_Patrol Triggered much? Read my comment again, I dropped it cause there wasnt much content the months after release. Great if theres content now, but thats too late for me.
Also, the only one acting like a childish fanboy is you and you are really tiresome.
I played the not very good campaign and tried some multiplayer but it quickly got boring due to lack of content so I feel like Infinite is best left to be forgotten in a dark corner somewhere. I did play some older Halo games which I love just to remind myself of the glory days and I still hope we can get a great Halo game again in the futureā¦
FF 7 Rebirth - just finished the game, and what a game it is! So much fun to play, great story, goofy and silly at times but powerful and emotional at times. Perfect combo. And what a world theyāve created to explore and some fun minigames and QB. This game is high on my all time favorites now and does so many things better than Remake. Simply awesome!
Stellan Blade demo - very impressed, this is going to be a good one!
Just to try it, I did rewards to get a 3 month GPU subscription "for free" twice in a row but its just not worth the work you have to put in imo. So from last month I only bother with the really easy rewards, basically what you get from playing and I also try to remember using Bing instead of Google
I“ve played it for a few hours on PS5 but it never clicked for me so I gave it up. But its not a bad game at all, so I would recommend everyone to try it. Perfect for GamePass!

Rise of the Ronin - Finished and platinumed. First off, I had fun playing it the whole way through. @jesse_dylan yeah it wasnt a pretty launch for Cyberpunk. But neither are Bethesdas RPG games it the best shape at release.
But what I really hope Bethesda improves are the stories, worldbuilding, feeling etc compared to say Starfield or Fallout.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 11-12)
Destiny 2 Lightfall - As I used to play Destiny 1 & 2 a lot (scary to think of how many hours its been over the years) I want to see the end of the Light and the Darkness story so its great that Lightfall is now on PS Plus as I dont want to give Bungie more money or start playing D2 again outside of the campaign.
Re: Xbox's New 'This Is Halo' Trailer Summarises 343's Journey With Halo Infinite
@Ver One of the best FPS out there right now? Not sure if seriousā¦
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 4-5)
A little less game time than normal this week but Iāve manager some hours at least š
Immortals of Aveum - Iāve finished the story, which all things considered (including characters and such) was pretty decent.
Nah
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 27-28)
I already played Jedi Survivor on ps5 but my son started it now when its on GamePass and absolutely loves it, as did I. Very good game imo!
Re: EA's Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Is Heading To Xbox Game Pass This Week
Great game imo, enjoyed it a lot and a nice addition to GPU
Re: PlayStation Exclusive 'Kena: Bridge Of Spirits' Rated For Xbox Series X|S
I love this game, great that its coming to Xbox so more gamers can play it
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 20-21)
Interesting to see how I feel about the game in 10 hours more but right now I'm looking forward to playing more
Dave the Diver - I've played a bit, and can see the appeal so I'll play more but I dont think it'll be my GOTY. But its a nice game to play in between other games
Miasma Chronicles - I liked their previous game Mutant Year Zero and this game is very similar in gameplay but I feel like the setting and story in Mutant was better but I havent played for that long so it might change. Another game Im playing a short while here and there.
Harold Halibut - looks absolutely amazing but plays slow and boring as hell sadly... might give it some more time though, it might grow on me
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 13-14)
Since last week
The Expanse - finished the game. It started pretty good but the last third of the game before the end wasnt quite as good as the story slowed down and the environments werent as fun. Overall though I enjoyed it!
Robocop - Im really enjoying this game. Its good, old school fun AA gaming at its best with pretty funny dialog and characters.
Synapse PSVR 2 - The game is really good and super fun and VR makes all the difference as Im not usually in to roguelikes but the gameplay and mechanics are great!
Re: Star Wars Outlaws Launches This August On Xbox Series X|S
Im all giddy about this game, looks f-n amazing imo!
Re: Talking Point: Which Classic COD Would You Play First On Xbox Game Pass?
Going to play all the campaigns, but no multiplayer!
Re: Xbox Doubles Down On Highly Ambitious Plans For Next-Gen Hardware
Its good that Xbox are talking about next gen so we all know there“ll be a next gen Xbox but honestly if they dont get their first party developers to consistently start releasing some great games that are best played on Xbox/GamePass I dont think it will matter much what the next Xbox is
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 6-7)
FF 7 Rebirth - Iāve finished the game. Simply awesome! Dont know what to add to all the positive things already said but its high on my list of favorite games š¤©
Brothers A tale of two sons - a favorite game of mine, had to take the opportunity to play it again. Still very good, and still very emotional š„²
The Expanse - About half way and enjoying it a lot more than I had hoped. Looking forward to continuing the story over the weekend!
I also got Robocop lined up, picked it up in the sale, I think Im going to enjoy this game a lot.
Happy gaming yāall!
Re: Poll: What Are Your First Impressions Of Diablo 4 On Xbox Game Pass?
Diablo isnt my type of game but I tried it. The opening cinematics are really cool but the gameplay just isnt for me. Its a great addition to GamePass though.
Re: Talking Point: Xbox Fans, Are You Still Enjoying Halo Infinite In 2024?
@Stoned_Patrol Triggered much? Read my comment again, I dropped it cause there wasnt much content the months after release. Great if theres content now, but thats too late for me.
Also, the only one acting like a childish fanboy is you and you are really tiresome.
Re: Talking Point: Xbox Fans, Are You Still Enjoying Halo Infinite In 2024?
I played the not very good campaign and tried some multiplayer but it quickly got boring due to lack of content so I feel like Infinite is best left to be forgotten in a dark corner somewhere. I did play some older Halo games which I love just to remind myself of the glory days and I still hope we can get a great Halo game again in the futureā¦
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 30-31)
Re: Xbox's New Microsoft Rewards Quest Gives You 1000+ Points Per-Month
Just to try it, I did rewards to get a 3 month GPU subscription "for free" twice in a row but its just not worth the work you have to put in imo. So from last month I only bother with the really easy rewards, basically what you get from playing and I also try to remember using Bing instead of Google
Re: Evil West Is Shaping Up As Another Big Hit For Xbox Game Pass
I“ve played it for a few hours on PS5 but it never clicked for me so I gave it up. But its not a bad game at all, so I would recommend everyone to try it. Perfect for GamePass!
Re: With A 'PS5 Pro' Now Rumoured For 2024, Where Does That Leave Xbox?
We already have two Series S and one series X so no. Only one ps5 though so might get a pro.
Re: Poll: How Excited Are You For Diablo 4 On Xbox Game Pass?
Iāll give it a go but its not really my kind of game so I dont have any high expectations.
