One thing I constantly hear Microsoft get criticised for is the lack of first party exclusives, so releasing what is considered a 'GOTY' contender on another format seems a little backwards to me. Sure, from a sales perspective, I'm sure it makes sense, but when you're supposed to be trying to prove doubters wrong and increase your portfolio of exclusives, maybe not so much. Just my personal take on it. Of course, its a rumour. Until Microsoft or any other party announce anything, I'll take it with a pinch of salt.
I have recently started this myself and it's actually my first Yakuza game. Why have I never delved into this series until now? I'm having an absolute blast with this game! I'm excited to get it done so that I can try another one after 😂
I feel it does make business sense as Alan Wake 2 hints massively that it will include Mr. Scratch, who was the main antagonist of American Nightmare. Sure, he appeared at the end of the first game, but he played such a big part in American Nightmare. They could have remastered it and just had it as paid DLC for Alan Wake Remastered.
I try not to have high expectations for these kinds of things these days, but Xbox really need to deliver on this. The advantage that PlayStation and Nintendo has is that they continuously pump out high quality first party releases. A reason to actually go and buy their console. Without them, you may as well just stick with them. First party titles on Xbox have been very quiet as of late. Really hope they give me a reason to justify my 400 pound console purchase.
Callisto Protocol wasn't as bad as critics have made it out to be. I enjoyed it for the most part and people whom I have spoken to said they enjoyed it too. Sure, it's flawed, it borrows very heavily from Dead Space, but there is a above average game in there. If anything, it more than scratches the itch whilst waiting for Dead Space
The hardware is topnotch, but what good is great hardware without a killer app to go with it? Other than Forza and Halo Infinite, I'm really struggling to think of any major first party releases, especially this year.
Credit where credit is due though, Gamepass has been fantastic! 😁👌
Played this on Switch. I loved it that much, I bought a physical version of it. If it comes to Gamepass, I'll definitely play it again. Gamepass would be perfect for a game such as this!
As a dad who works full time and is in a relationship with someone who has zero interest in games, a games length is important, though I'll make an exception if its a big flagship title such as Halo, God of War or the latest Mario offering. I also like to play an array of Retro consoles, so i need to divide time up 😅
I have been very skeptical regarding Frontiers. The announcement trailer had me thinking it looked pretty, but it was one big empty open world. This trailer fills me some confidence, but I think if Sega released a demo, it would help make other peoples minds up. Saying that, my 4 year old is OBSESSED with Sonic at the moment, so I don't think I'll have a choice in picking this one up 🤣
Was gonna play Portal 2 on Switch, but my friend wants me to wait so he can get it and then co-op it together, so I thought I'd try out Road 96 on Gamepass. I'm an hour or so in and so far, I'm really liking it. Definitely a highlight to the service this month. I also recently bought a few lightgun games on PS2, so I'm also gonna try and get some time in with those too 😁👍
Even with the disc, it's still an additional 25gb. This is an absolute joke. Surely it should just be on the disc? What's the actual point of a physical copy? 🤷♂️
If you've recently played through Alan Wake Remastered and crave more, you really can't go wrong with American Nightmare. One of the best pieces standalone expansions in recent memory in my opinion
Boom Boom Rocket and Feeding Fish Frenzy, Castle Crashers and Limbo were some of the best games on that system period, let alone just Xbox Arcade and Indie games
For someone who has just come back to Xbox with a Series X after playing on PS4 last gen, Conker is a sweet reminder of why I love Xbox and Rareware of course

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 29-30)
Currently on the Tekken 8 Closed Network Test on my Series X and then I'll probably bounce between that and Pikmin 4 on my Switch

Re: Xbox Is Giving Away These Official New Mandalorian Series X|S Consoles
@Gkobz Every time they do these giveaways and there has been a lot of them, I always think, missed opportunity to make some serious money. 🤷
Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite Special Edition Xbox Series X|S Controller So Far?
I recently bought a shock blue coloured controller. Purely because it screams Sega vibes. Who wouldn't want that?! 🤷♂️

Whilst that is cool, I could never go to a Chili's gig and sit down! It would be stood up or nothing 😅

@Alduin Nothing wrong with Indie games mate. In fact, there are plenty of indie games that are far superior to some AAA games
