Re: Matt Booty Explains Xbox's Plans For Exclusive Games Going Forward

@Banjo- I don't disagree with the mission or PlayStation not giving anything back. But in building back userbase and long term stability you have to think in the short and long term. So maybe a good solution would have been Gears of War E Day being a timed exclusive. Reloaded already came out on PlayStation and built a following on there. Seems a little weird to not give them a feature packed new game. PlayStation doesn't really get these single and multiplayer packed games anymore. And with the new traversal and horde mode I think it could have appealed to alot of PlayStation players. Especially those who may be fans of uncharted and other tps.

Clockwork makes sense though. A steampunk action RPG. There's not analogue to that on PlayStation. And if it's good it has the potential to move units. Hell even Forza moved units a little bit at least in the UK.

Me personally I think Gears should have stayed multiplatform. It's a legacy but it's time doing the huge numbers is kind of done. I have no doubt E Day will be successful, I'm probably in on day one. But I think Xbox should build its exclusives on new or lesser known IP's that have the chance to be console sellers. Which is why I think Clockwork Revolution being exclusive is a good idea and State of Decay should have joined it.

Re: Talking Point: Has Your Gaming Slowed Down As You've Got Older?

I get an hour a day max these days. My wife is pretty accommodating to my hobby, but having a son and work makes it much harder to have time (and sometimes I'm just too tired to enjoy it). I will say getting to game less has made me appreciate gaming much more than before I was married and had more time and disposable income.

Re: Pick One: Which Is The Best Bethesda Game Studios RPG?

Fallout 3 is the top for me. I never really vibes with Elder Scrolls. I like things about it, I just prefer more Sci Fi centric stuff to fantasy.

I think Starfield will surpass Fallout 4 for me but I'm not sure about Fallout 3. I'm consistently going back and forth between Starfield being a 9 to an 8.5. I've had some truly awesome moments in the game so far and I'm only 24 hours in. But I think the flow is not as seamless as I hoped. Which is one of the things I loved about Fallout 3. It'll probably be my game of the year (still need to finish Jedi Survivor, Armored Core and looking forward to Spider-Man 2). But the jury is far out from it being my favorite Bethesda game or one of my personal GOATs.

Re: Poll: Based On What You've Played So Far, What Score Would You Give Starfield?

16 hours in and I give it an 8.5 so far. Nothing egregious for me so far. The highs have been really high in quests, ship combat, loot, combat, and even aspects of exploration. Only thing annoying me so far is some of the tedium with loading and the constellation companions being all on my ass whenever I ask for more money 🙄.

But yeah, still got plenty to go and excited to do it. Wish I had more time to play. Definitely going to be my favorite game of the year most likely.

Re: Starfield Is Hitting Impressive Concurrent Player Numbers On Steam Already

Glad to see it's mostly been receiving positive feedback. I think Starfield is going to be a good example of what flaws mean to different players. Reviewers that I've seen give the game high praise are still pointing out flaws alongside people that are more critical. I'm guessing to them what's good about the game is so good that the flaws don't really bug them. Which is not going to be the same for everyone. Games like Marvel's Spider-Man, Metroid Prime 2, and Assassin's Creed III are masterpieces to me. They very much have flaws (apparent ones too) but to me the highs are so high that the flaws never really bug me. I'm looking forward to seeing where Starfield falls into the pantheon for me.
