So uncanny that Microsoft always has pretty decent showcases (Infinite excepted) with lots of cool games but they never seem to release anything of note.
I unsubbed last year after three years. The marquee exclusives weren't/aren't there and considering how cheap games are these days if you're willing to wait a bit (especially on PC, which has tons of free games too), I realized I'd rather just buy games outright than play them on GP. And I always hated feeling like I was on the clock with games leaving all the time.
lol what the hell is going with Perfect Dark. the studio was founded almost five years ago and not only is it much further away than Starfield etc, but also Avowed?
Played on One X last night, constant stuttering when moving through the map and even freezes for half a second every time you switch weapons. Not having this game in 60FPS sucks, but if it can't even achieve a smooth 30 the game is basically unplayable for me.
I remember reading a Eurogamer article prior to the Series launch where some Microsoft engineer claimed these new consoles wouldn't have price drops like previous generations.
It makes no sense that I can play a game like Forza Horizon 5 on PC online for free but have to pay a tax to play that same game on console. Gold is totally at odds with Xbox's "ecosystem" concept and flies in the face of their whole "consumer first" shtick. Paying for online was somewhat defensible in 2008, when online infrastructure was under development and an Xbox was 200$ – in 2022 it's completely insane. One can only hope they scrap it altogether and don't replace it with that dreadful ad-supported idea.
@Deemo37 Exactly, even GOG has better giveaways. It's insane that Epic can give away stuff like Death Stranding for free while Microsoft can only get shovelware for a paid service.
Microsoft sits on tens, if not hundreds, of billions of dollars in cash. Phil's grift about caring for people in "uncertain times" while he simultaneously threatens us with price hikes (and while his company hoards the mother-lode) is the kind of utterly tone-deaf nonsense that only a CEO could peddle.
Like the TLoU remake I have no idea why EA are doing this when the original is available on modern platforms and still holds up very well today. That price is just another reason to stay away.
Very interesting, looks like an upscaled port of the 64 version, not the leaked 360 remake with new textures/lighting. I guess that means no local coop campaign in addition to no online multi. A bit disappointed considering how good the Perfect Dark remake was, but getting it free is nice so one can't complain.
Astonishing to me that people think that 343i did a good job with Infinite. The campaign was ugly fan fiction made up mostly of that typical annoying 343 button-pressing level design and largely developed by outsourced contractors. It's the worst mainline Halo game and one of the worst games I've ever played.
Gold sucks. I don't get why I can play Xbox and Game Pass games on PC online for free but have to pay a tax when I want to play with my friends on console. It's the one big thing I really hate about playing on Xbox, especially now that they've gotten rid of the 360 games and are making you pay the same price for less.

Re: Deals: Xbox Is Hosting A Huge Backwards Compatibility Sale This Week (May 16-23)
Nice to see the DoA games on sale for a change but 20% is a truly pitiful discount considering the games are ~20 years old.

Re: Microsoft Rewards: How To Claim 2000 Bonus Points On Xbox In March 2023
Kinda dumb that it'll take over two weeks to complete with that weekly set requirement when you could finish the previous months in five days.
