That's plenty of games there for pocket change to keep you busy during the holiday season. A lot seem to be EA I already get with Game Pass though.

I played it a while back, and had a good time with the campaign. So few games are set in WWI so it's got that going for it.

It's fun to see the inspiration behind some of the locations. I think I prefer 5 as it's more polished, and has a better range of locations. The Scottish highlands just can't compare to the Mexican jungles and a volcano

This show should just get rid of the "Awards" part and just be purely for announcements. There's a dozen articles here on the reveals, but nothing on who's actually won what awards

I've not got around to playing it as I've been busy with other stuff, but I may play over the holiday break so hopefully some more issues will have been ironed out on their end.

I'm surprised it's taken this long. Microsoft were big on the whole cloud gaming thing, and while the Game Pass Streaming library is pretty broad it's missing lots of big titles that'd make it worthwhile to tempt someone as a feature of its own.

This is a good start, but they need to be pro-active to have basically every game available.

I just bought a copy of World at War last weekend so of course NOW is when they finally start to put the old games on Game Pass 😫

Epic is packing more and more into Fortnite, and I fear that it's going to leave some of these modes that could be their own games to drown in the sea of content. It's already a Battle royale shooter racer platformer sandbox rhythm game. Now it's a tactical team FPS.

The plans for the racing mode have already been scaled back folding Fall Guys (a title that was super popular and had staff and resources gutted) into Fortnite fell flat.

"Available Day 3 on Game Pass" just isn't as snappy of a tagline...

I've got mine in energy saving mode as it saves power, and I don't experience any downsides. Compared to the previous generation power on from shutdown is about 5 seconds, and from sleep it's about 3 so I don't notice a difference.

Disappointed to hear that it's not as good as it was hoped. I was looking forward to this one, and seems like a miss.

When I heard it was the longest game they've made, and it was centred around open worlds I was a bit worried as I liked how the Wolfenstein games kept the pace going, and like you were swept up in the adventure.

Stealthing around everywhere is something that can get grating for me after a while, I could never really get into Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell, so this might not be for me.

As it's on Game Pass I'll still give it a try to get some fun out of it as I'm a big Indy fan, but I'm glad I didn't pre-order the £100 super special early access edition.

I wonder how many hours he's put into Fortnite after they paid him to do a concert and have his songs and likeness in the game. Probably the same amount of time he's used a Solo smokeless stove, or those car insurance companies he does ads for

This is just crazy. So it's going to take up as much, or more, space than Baldur's Gate 3. I hope it doesn't also need to have a big chunk of "reserved" space too. BO6 needed 25gb of reserved space on top of the 100gb install. Presumably as it likes to stretch its elbows a bit on my hard drive.

If games were released on physical disks again then this wouldn't even fit on one top end triple density BD100 disk so the developers would think more about the size of stuff to save money. Not that the Xbox can even read BD100 disks reliably anyway.

It's sad to see one of the last big developers in San Francisco being closed down. They're the ones who'll feel the pain not the executives who keep on shovelling money into more and more failing live services.

I worry as the next game from Remedy is going to be an online multiplayer FPS set in the Control universe. Trying cash in on the success of smaller indie titles that have used the SCP lore to make squad based FPS games. If that one flops then that's going to impact a great studio who make inventive story driven single player titles.

@Ocat I agree that even if it was a bad game (I haven't played it, but by all accounts it is) I'm sure you can get $5 worth of fun out of it. Though there could be better games out there for that money..

I bought the Avengers when it was dirt cheap, and it's worth a go to experience the story mode since they've added all the story expansions now. The base story it launched with was pretty short.

I won't be buying Suicide Squad though as it was given away free on PC a couple months ago

Cool! I'll likely put it on for a while. I usually have either the purple nebula that came with my controller, or the eye searing pride one.

I'll have to see if they have any nice christmas themed ones. I'd like to see a relaxing snowfall or something.

I hope it does get added as I've been interested to play it, but can sometimes have a hard time with platformers.

I did a virtual chat and gave them the order number of the DLC I bought, and it was added to my library the next day.

Were my Xbox to break and need replacing I'm leaning more towards a digital only option honestly.

Mostly because the disc drive on the Xbox is awful, and can't reliably play BD-100 disks so if you buy a movie on 4K then there's a good possibility it won't play on a Series X.

Like this article shows the physical game disks are nothing but shelf stuffers now as even with a disk you're still reliant on the servers to host the game files for you to download same as a digital purchase.

These character artists should put their pencils down and get working fixing the anti-cheat system as of course those are the same people who work on everything, and Call of Duty only hires three people to run the studio.

Yay for crossplay! I'm hoping to have more time to play BG3 over the christmas holidays. I have no idea how far I am through the storyline, but I've probably still got a way to go as I've been doing various side quests.

It's one of those things that's rough in the modern era of games. Back in the Cartridge and CD era of gaming once it shipped then that was it pretty much. If you had a buggy game then that was that. Now this can be fixed, and a broken game with solid foundations can get patched, and work out great. Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky are two case studies there.

HOWEVER if a game comes out with serious bugs you can't just assume they'll be fixed any more than you could assume they'll fix any gameplay issues. You've got to review what's in front of you.

If we stop ignoring bugs, etc. in reviews then companies will release more buggy games than they already do.

@Ricky-Spanish I got the e-mail earlier today. Basically they've added the standard edition of the game to my account. So just short of 24 hours between contacting support and it coming through.

I'd recommend you get in touch as soon as you're able to just to be safe.

@Ricky-Spanish I contacted support, gave them the order number for my DLC purchase, and they said the code should be e-mailed over in 24-48hrs.

I'll update here if it does come through, but as the came will be de-listed in 2 weeks then I'd say it's worth asking them so you can play the game you've paid for.

Ok. Though as long as the content is good I don't really mind too much how long a game is. I'd rather a short 3-5 hours than the same content spread over 10-20 with molasses pacing.

My recollection of Wolfenstein 1 and 2 were that they kept a good pace and kept things fresh with twists and turns. If they can bring that same energy but more of it I'm onboard.

@FraserG I've been tempted to buy FH4 at that price as I actually already own the "Ultimate Upgrade", and we're supposed to get a code for the base game before it's delisted, but I've not got anything. I'm worried that if I wait until after it's gone I'll have lost access forever

I mean I set mine up, and then it never really appeared in any part of the experience. I'm not surprised it's being canned.

It's the game I'm most looking forward to, I love the movies, and previews seem positive. The last two IJ movies, and the games industry in general, however, have taught me to listen to the cynical ***** in me, and not get my hopes up. Thankfully it's on Game Pass so at least I'll not be out of pocket if it turns out to be stinker.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner Sadly MS keeps the Game Pass figures close to their chest rather than be public like some sales figures.

The lack of transparency sucks as it means the publishers can keep that info for their own benefit. Same goes for steaming services for TV and movies.

I bought Alan Wake Remastered. I've played it for a bit, but not sure if I'll stick with it or not.

I look forward to experiencing these changes when it goes on sale for 50% off next year, or gets added to Game Pass.

This is really good to see. That Cloud was limited to Game Pass (and a couple others like Fortnite) was such a hindrance. I hope that more games are added in time.

I'd love to be able to play Star Trek Online on the go as it's a game with a lot of daily missions that you can miss if you're travelling or out and about.

Yet another reason why you should never pre-order or pay extra for early access (though not the case here).

I'll wait until the weekend to try it out and hopefully things will have died down by then. Saturday is supposed to be a big storm so a perfect day for a chill sim game.

It does suck that as we move away from physical releases you won't be able to buy these games any more when licenses run out.

I'm in the same boat where it comes to not getting a code for FH4, but it says they're not going to finish handing them out until 2026. So you could, in theory, get the code, and then only have a very short window of time to redeem it. How do they even send out the codes? e-mail, message on the console?

Alan Wake Remastered is on sale for 75% off for £6.24 which is good as I've been wanting to get that for a while now. I can finally see what the fuss is all about. I hope it's not too spooky though.

Good for them. Microsoft is a gigantic company with a LOT of power. The only way employees are going to get any recognition is through collective action. MS' actions in closing studios, outsourcing work, etc. shows that they most certainly prioritise short term profits over employee wellbeing.

I saw some reports of the pre-release build that it streams a LOT of data over the network constantly compared to the last game to keep the install size small. Has there been any news on that being true in the final build?

They've removed the developer from the credits? What a scummy move. If they made the game then they should still get the credit for it.

I do hate that QR seems to have so many issues with a bunch of popular games (especially online ones) that have never been fixed. Microsoft need to give you the option of turning it off on a game by game basis as a default console feature.

Well considering that we were in a global pandemic, and stuck in our houses worrying for our future and that of our loved ones I'm not particularly nostalgic no. The release of a new console didn't really seem all that important at the time.

When it comes to the consoles themselves it was more of an upgrade than a new generation. There were no "next gen" titles at launch, or for a while later. The best we had was probably Flight Simulator.

In some ways the Series X was a downgrade for me as the disc drive is prone to issues, we lost the cable TV integration functions, and other media controls don't work with my TV that did with my One S.

This has been rumoured for ages so I'll believe it when I see it. Will it actually happen? I don't know as they were going to do a set top cloud console, but scrapped that, and I can see them scrapping this too.

I'm most looking forward to trying Indiana Jones as it's a franchise I really like, and the developer seems like a good fit.

Though Flight Sim 24 is a close second as I enjoyed the last entry, but the lack of structure was a bit of a downside for a casual player. More focus on missions might make me want to play it more often than just flying around places.

So when they say "gaming revenue growing by 43% "including 43 points of net impact from the Activision acquisition" " does that mean that their core revenue didn't grow at all, and all their gaming growth came from the company they just paid billions for?

Sounds like fun. I'm interested to see how this works out as the franchise is a great setting for this kind of adventure.

I hope he's not holding too much in MS stock as I have a feeling it'll be taking a dip next year unless they can get AI to actually make money.

If the licencing terms are such that it's not worth their while to actually do it then it's a worthless concession.

Has there been any word about these coming out on a Ubisoft cloud service? I thought they were forced to have a non-exclusive license agreement for all CoD games as part of the merger agreement?
