Re: Halo Infinite's Campaign Is 'Several Times Larger' Than The Last Two Combined

I'm less convinced than others on the open world approach, any reminants of an engaging plot can all too easily become background noise to a series of checkbox exercises laid out on a map. Combat looks great but graphics are a bit meh for the big exclusive, im not sure infinite is a console seller, but that's not really MS

I have a feeling this is not going to recreate the same intense coop legendary difficulty slogs i enjoyed back in the day.

The problem with all the EA hate is it is somewhat inaccurate to call them out as unique, not only have EA shown some signs of consumer friendly practice. But I’d say companies like Bethesda, Activision Blizzard and Ubisoft are all rapidly catching up with shady monetisation practices, rehashed game designs and obnoxious design practices that cause extra grind, which tie into monetisation once again.

The fact that so many companies are purposefully making games worse in order to get more money post purchase makes me concerned for the future of the industry, thankfully some companies app journalists and reviewers are pointing this out and fighting back. Hopefully alongside closed wallet protests.

I'm digging the marketing strategy, the design and the featureset, my hope is the games are going to be pretty compelling, exclusives were weak last generation and I have to say getting the PS4 was the right call.

But Sony's exclusives have waned a bit, MS is investing heavily in studios and most of my friends and family are on Xbox Live so I have a feeling I'll be leaning MS this gen, fingers crossed there is some couch coop focus, I am all for creating fun memories with friends and family and it feels like the start of a resurgence in recent years, hopefully it continues.
