@munstahunta I bought SOM on steam to play on my steamdeck. My biggest thought during the game was: "They should've just made this a platformer action game instead of having combat arenas." I really think that would've flowed better.
Funny to think that MGS4 was up and running on xbox360 but then they decided to opt against it due to the DVDs they'd need to use. I bet if they just discussed it with Microsoft, Microsoft would've created an exception for it to download data or something like that. Or maybe it would've gotten them to allow installs on DVDs and USB sticks earlier on the 360.
My friend and I would often smoke inside while gaming and drinking back in the day. I made a point of at least putting up protection for the consoles and/or making sure the place really airs out with a fan. He didn't, and recently 3 of his consoles all croaked. I opened them up to see if I could figure out a solution and it was just DUST.
I see Xbox1 base models going for anywhere between AU$30 - AU$70 at times. Honestly, if you got that and a bunch of secondhand games or gamepass I honestly think a person can be set for a really long time. With a bit more know-how, and using developer mode for homebrew emulators, I think you can still get a ton of value out of one. THAT BEING SAID! The xbox series s also goes for REALLY cheap secondhand at times here. So much so that I've almost thought about getting one for the heck of it even though I have an XSX.
@Kaloudz I don't understand most of Microsoft's limited runs and give aways this generation. The amount of times I see them doing them for licensed controllers / xbox series s and x when I think: "You know how many people would go out and buy that?"
The series S was so perfectly positioned to do themed releases. Monster hunter coming out? Release a Series S themed to a Rathalos and a range of controllers themed around the different weapons. TMNT coming out? Make a series S look like their car with a controller for each turtle colour.
But no, they're stuck for some reason on these weird promotions.
Kinda surprised they haven't put quieter games that require more multiplayer players on this list like Crash team rumble and redfall. Still if I only had core, there's still a good amount of entertainment to get out of this collection.
What's interesting in this video is new issues they mentioned with the BC version. I wonder if that's something to do with downloading it from scratch these days.
I still had mine installed from years ago and I haven't had any of those issues. Even poked around to see if maybe there's a new update for the old version that might cause it.
I honestly still don't understand why Microsoft doesn't make more themed xbox series s consoles. (Outside of competitions which barely anyone will get one)

Honestly I'm still baffled how a ton of their backlog hasn't been ported to android / ios for easy cash.

Re: Halo Fan Game To Release On Xbox After Microsoft & Halo Studios Give Approval
@shoeses Honestly was just thinking of Mighty Doom. I would've happily paid for an offline version on mobile. Heck, even on xbox or switch.
