I mean it's a good thing for devs so that they get increased sales and that's good for them and the publishers bottomed line so that ni one gets canned. Sell lots of games and keep your job. Selling on all or most platforms is THE WAY. You make millions of sales and make a big time overage and your company is gold and in bright twinkly eyes with the publisher and you get the green light for more games. Exclusives always drastically limits sales. An example I can say right now, if FF Remake and Rebirth was on Xbox, I'd wager most Xbox users would buy those games on release immediately. Square could stand to make billions if they did multiplatform. For a company or business perspective, going multiplatform is a no brainer. With games taking longer to make and more money to make, they should definitely revert back to how it was during the PS3 and 360 days where essentially everything was on everything. Then you truly could basically play whatever you wanted where you wanted to. Another thing is subscriptions. Extremely awesome for the consumer but not at all good for devs. And ironically GP is about to be getting a lot of amazing games on top of all they have and I subscribe to it every now and then. But with all these games I may get several months subscription and play a lot of these games. And the thing is, I would totally buy these games outright if that was the only way. But with GP, I can play lots of them and save megatonns of money. I kinda feel bad about it but it is business and that's what they want to do so.....let's play some basically free games yall lol.
I have played with early access the last couple of days and have had a blast. I did not go in it with out of this world expectations or on that hype train. I wanted a Bethesda game and I got one. So far I'm about 15 hours in and still near the start and the scale of the game is just so massive and feel like I will be playing this game for a long time to come. Spaceship combat seemed ok but I have never been keen on that type of game and can imagine that it will get even better for me with getting new ships or upgrading them. For me, the main thing is what you do on foot. Cities are huge with tons of npcs and quests and activities. Combat/exploration is quite fun too. Kind of reminds me of Fallout and a dash of Mass Effect. I take my time and loot everything that a base or location has and I recommend doing that as to not miss anything because there are books that I found that give quests for some other planet and magazines you can read to permanently raised your stats like in Fallout. So far I have encountered zero bugs which felt weird to me because Fallout 4 was the last Bethesda game I played and dang is it buggy in parts....Looking at you Boston!! So actually feels kind of weird that they make something that operates like it's supposed to lol. If you're a Bethesda fan, you will like this game!
