@Fiendish-Beaver

that's allowed! 😂

i was referring to Baltar's plea that he (Phil) was actually NOT a traitor of humanity (Xbox users) that in fact if it weren't for him the cylons (Nadella) would have done a lot worse on New Caprica. (not sure what the equivalent of New Caprica is for Xbox users lol. I guess Earth?) 🤓

@Millionski

i really feel your story. I have had a falling out with Nintendo over the last 10 years, a death by a thousand cuts as it were. I never considered them "pro consumer" but I did consider them somewhat.. wholesome(?) and down to earth, and gamer centric compared to the others. wholesome as in, focused on making good games and hardware, not necessarily doing whatever makes their shareholders happy.

anyway those days are long gone!

my other passion in videogames has been gaming and emulating on linux PCs, so when I finally wised up and bought a Steamdeck last October it was like coming home. Truly the best possible thing for a certain kind of gamer/nerd. ♥️♥️♥️

so I vote SteamOS of course 😅 From your comment I think you might be happy there. ✌️

"MICROSOFT AI EXEC TAKES OVER"

I read that REALLY, chillingly wrong for more than a couple seconds! 🫨

then I realized what it really meant and it's almost just as bad. 😂

I've never identified with XBOX or even tried, but I am a pro consumer gamer and I want better especially for the people who grew up on XBOX in their comparatively heady days. ✌️

Re: Review: 8BitDo Ultimate 3-Mode Controller For Xbox - Rare 40th Anniversary Edition - A New Gold Standard

@Damo the Ultimate 2 version of this controller desperately needs a Time Extension review, after the embarrassment that was the NintendoLife review. I wont bother repeating myself here but I made a couple comments there that i think sum it up 👍 given that the controller was clearly not designed for the Switch 2, I have to assume that even greenlighting that article was motivated by a relative dearth of Switch 2 news.

btw the implementation of the ultimate 2 with Steam Deck is the BEST I've ever seen, by far, and it's not even close. I got mine last week and I'm just elated! 😄 we would love to hear your thoughts on it in this context.

(in short, the steamdeck recognizes the controller specifically by name, and shows graphics of the exact controller in the options screen, it wakes the console instantly by lifting off the dock, the "extra buttons" are specifically each mappable to anything you could want including keyboard keys, mouse clicks, or macros, and the 8bd heart "glyph" appears in the UI where "home button" functions are displayed, and more.)

PS - NINETY DOLLARS for this controller? I think my Ult. 2 was 55 bucks! 😮
