Microsoft Adds Two New Dynamic Backgrounds For Xbox Series X|S1

Microsoft has added three new dynamic backgrounds to its Xbox Series X|S collection here in March 2026 - two first-party efforts from the Xbox team, alongside a brand-new drop to coincide with the release of epic RPG Crimson Desert.

The first of which you can take a look at up above; the Crimson Desert effort from Pearl Abyss. This is some pretty cool imagery, we must admit - although it's not the most dynamic in nature. We've also got a Towerborne 2026 dynamic background alongside a new Sea Of Thieves option for Xbox fans, both of which are top-heavy to allow space for those tiles below on the Xbox home screen.

We'll chuck examples of the two first-party additions down below as well:

If it weren't for the awesome Fallout New Vegas offering that Bethesda added a while ago we'd be quite tempted by that Crimson Desert one, but alas, we're sticking with this one for now. As for the other two, they're not the most inspired backgrounds admittedly - but still, it's nice to have a few more options either way.

All three of these new dynamic backgrounds are now live and ready to use on Xbox Series X and S.

Thinking of using any of these, folks? Talk to us about Xbox's new backgrounds down below.
