To celebrate Xbox's Indie Selects program as we head further into 2026, Microsoft has added three new dynamic backgrounds for Xbox Series X|S users - and if you're looking to add a splash of colour to your Xbox dashboard, these could be the way to go.
The first example — which you can view up above — is the most simplistic of the three backgrounds, while the other two are a bit more complex, with more animation involved as well. We'll share stills of the other two down below, which feature moving characters, lifts/escalators and more:
If you have a gander on your Series X|S consoles, you'll be able to see how much they animate for yourselves; we're fans of the escalator one with its moving skeletons, we must admit. All three backgrounds are live now to celebrate Xbox Indie Selects in 2026.
