If you were around the gaming world last week, you may have seen the drama surrounding Red Dead Redemption - where Rockstar's free Xbox upgrade wasn't working for most people on the launch of its new current-gen release. Well, the team fixed the issue for lots of players pretty quickly, but now a week later, some owners are still not getting their free upgrades.
Having a quick look on Reddit over the weekend, there are quite a few responses in this thread about folks still not getting their free RDR upgrades despite supposedly being eligible on Xbox. These responses come from multiple regions as well, as fans voice their frustrations over still not being able to access the Xbox Series X|S version at no extra cost; as promised by Rockstar.
Over here at Pure Xbox, we've seen mixed responses on this topic. In our initial update on this being rolled out we saw plenty of positive responses where folks were getting the free upgrade, but not everyone was successful. Then, in our feature on whether folks had managed to access the new version for free, plenty of readers were saying that they still hadn't gotten access - as recently as this past weekend as well.
We'll be keeping an eye on things this week to see if we get another update from Rockstar, with fans hoping to hear something before the game's promotional 50% discount period ends. That's set to last for two weeks; until roughly December 14th.
