We're totally expecting this game to go under the radar following its release on Xbox this week, but there's an interesting story behind it! Milano's Odd Job Collection is the English version of a PS1 game that released exclusively in Japan back in 1999, and it just so happens to be making its Xbox debut in the process as well.

The fan translators at Hilltop Works have teamed up with publisher XSEED Games to bring Milano's Odd Job Collection to a new audience here in 2025, featuring English text and voiceovers along with improved load times, save states and a rewind feature. It's only £12.79 / $14.99 for Xbox Series X and Series S, and it's available right now.

Here's what our sister site, Push Square, had to say about the game in their 7/10 review:

"We simply love that we live in a world where a retro Japanese curio like this can exist on modern Western consoles, and we’d recommend it out of sheer novelty to anyone with even an ounce of PS1 nostalgia."

The game itself is centred around an 11-year-old kid called Milano who decides to take on a series of part-time jobs around the town, and these are made up of eight unique minigames. There's also a customisation element where you can decorate Milano's house and add new items.

As mentioned by Push Square, it's amazing to see something like this getting a widespread English release in 2025, and that alone is worth highlighting! The game itself looks pretty interesting too though, and we're keen to check it out.

Here are more details along with some screenshots for Milano's Odd Job Collection on Xbox:

School’s out, but 11-year-old Milano’s mom needs to go to the hospital and Milano is sent to spend the summer with her uncle. There’s one small problem – her uncle is away on vacation! Left on her own, Milano decides to make the most of her situation by taking up a variety of part-time jobs in town. Over the next 40 days, Milano goes all in – delivering pizzas, nursing sick patients, milking flying cows, and more – to make this summer unforgettable. And maybe she can spruce up her uncle’s place and have some fun while she’s at it.
