The teams at EA and BF Studios have announced that Battlefield 6 will be free to try on all platforms, starting November 25th at 4am PT / 7am ET / 12pm GMT and running through December 2nd at those very same times.

This free trial period will contain access to BF6 multiplayer, with three maps (Blackwell Fields, Eastwood and Siege of Cairo) and four game modes (Breakthrough, Conquest, Sabotage and Team Deathmatch) playable for a full week.

This is the first time that the core Battlefield 6 experience has been free-to-play, and it likely won't be the last. It's a tactic that the Call of Duty series has used for years now; serve up limited-time free trials alongside seasonal updates to build buzz and get new people through the door.

Of course, this year BF6 does have a free-to-play component anyway in the form of Battlefield REDSEC. That's based around a battle royale experience though and is separate to the main game - longtime fans will surely appreciate a free look at the main multiplayer experience over the next week or so.
