Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 19-20) 1

We love a weekend because it means we get to spend time with our loved ones. Yes, Games.

This week we got a few of September's remaining batch of Xbox Game Pass releases, but it's also worth remembering the Free Play Days games, and be sure to check out all the best discounted titles from Xbox's Tokyo Game Show sale on the Xbox Store too.

So, let's get right into it, here's what we're playing on Xbox this weekend:

Craig Reid, Staff Writer

For the past week, I've been all in on completing Control Resonant hoping to make it in time for yesterday's review embargo. That means I've sorely neglected Onimusha: Way of the Sword. This weekend, I'm hoping to get back to it because from what I've played so far, it's an absolute banger - Musashi Miyamoto iconic!

Besides that, I'll probably head back into Control to mop up some side missions and other bits and bobs I may have missed, whilst also spending some time on Valheim. I booted it up earlier this week for the vibes and was instantly struck by the calm melodies and murderous trees.

Oh, and I've also put in some time with WARDOGS on Steam. Even though I haven't a clue about what the best thing is to do, I'm still having an absolute blast with my pals. Proper heart pounding stuff. 2028 is certainly a long time to wait for a console version, so I thought I'd have a crack and see what it's all about.

Anyhoo, happy gaming!

I'm playing so much NHL 27 right now. I know people have been ragging on it a little bit, and I understand the areas that definitely still need improvement for sure, but I'm also really enjoying myself. Staying away from online has really helped with that - the offline experience is pretty great, although honestly I think it's a little easy even on Superstar!

Gears of War: Reloaded is also on the must-play list for me at the moment, and that's because I really want to give the franchise another go. For whatever reason, I've never been able to get into it (fortunately Craig and other PX writers are HUGE fans), and I feel like I'm missing out on what everyone's been loving for the past two decades. With E-Day around the corner, now seems the perfect time to dive in and get better acquainted with it.

Have a great weekend, folks!
