Rumour: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Is Still Due For Xbox Series X|S In 2026

Is rebirth the 2nd part of the remake?

I'm probably going to wait for the 'Complete Edition', although I image that will make the game absolutely huge. I've never actually played a Final Fantasy game, and am pretty interested in this one (or three!)...

@Decimateh yeah. Final Fantasy VII Remake is part one, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is part two.

@Fiendish-Beaver it'll be massive if you do that. Remake took me around 43 hours to finish doing almost everything. I'm currently 64 hours into Rebirth, not being close to doing everything available.

Took the money from Sony for timed exclusivity so you can keep it.
I like the original ff7 but with squeenix doing this and then waiting 5 yrs jog on!

@Fiendish-Beaver, as someone who waited for Part 2 to be near release so I could finally play Part 1, I can say to you that it was a great experience! Not only is Part 2 much better, but it was so great for continuity-wise to play both at once that I can't imagine how it was back in 2020, but I am afraid that won't be a great experience to play all three at once, if you are of the completionist kinda Part1 is around 40h, Part2 easily 90-100h, since Part 3 seems to be the biggest yet I believe at least 150h for you to complete the 3 games, I can see you growing tired of the game in the middle of the road....

My big big question here is whether there's any point picking up remake intergrade when it comes out. When Rebirth released on ps5, if you pre-ordered it digitally you got remake intergrade for no extra cost, so I'd prefer that route really

@Questionable_Duck I sure hope so, be a waste of time if they didn't after porting the others. I suppose I could be ok with a short exclusivity window of about 3 months, if it was development time related

1-10 are available on the xbox right now. Start with the real ones imo

Totally picking this and the sequel up, seeing as the third game will more than likely be day and date.

Hmmm... Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been given away as part of the PS+ Essential subscription for a month, so for many it was more like they saved the costs of getting the Integrade DLC content.

I personally wouldn't bet on it. I guess Square Enix probably signed a time-exclusiv deal with Sony/PlayStation for all the 3 parts when they initially started with the first one, or the contract was updated when the Integrade version was released on PS5.

That would have happened before Square Enix decided to release their games multiplatform and now they need to honor those contacts.

@TrollOfWar yeah true, I played it on PS4 through PS plus. I'm just thinking from a current POV (I only have series x now as a AAA console) do I bother getting intergrade, or will they announce a bundle later

@Coletrain Of course it would be a poor move by Square Enix if they didn't offer the 2 games bundled. IMO they should also release the games at a discount for a limited time (like Death Stranding Director's Cut did on Xbox).

@TrollOfWar yes agreed. I was thinking exactly of the death stranding strategy being pretty much the only way I'm going to buy intergrade earlier than rebirth. It worked on me before. Fingers crossed 🤞🤞

I didn't like part 1 of the remake. It's doubtful I ever play parts 2 or 3. Loved the original though. It's tough to watch such a great 30 hour experience get turned into a 100+ hour bloat fest.

I'm collecting Final Fantasy games on Xbox since XV, which was very special because I played it on Xbox One X, on my first OLED TV (LG C9). Before that, I had played IV on DS, X/X-2 on PS4 and the original VII on Windows.

The Pixel Remaster bundle is awesome. I'm wondering if they will ever remaster IX (60% off at the moment). I played it a bit on Game Pass, but it looked awful, hyper-pixelated and blurry. I have also beaten others on Xbox: VIII, XIII and XIII-2 which look gorgeous on Series X. I need to play the third part, World of Final Fantasy Maxima, XII and maybe XIV if I have the time. Then, there's XVI and the VII trilogy on top of all that!

Burn out did cross my mind too, @GASEOUS, although I guess with them being separate games, it does mean you could stop at a natural break in between games. My only concern is how much of talking there might be because after a while that started to grate in Metaphor, for example...

@Fiendish-Beaver, rest assured that it is not as bad as Atlus Games. Despite having a bunch of cutscenes, the game is paced okay with a ton of gameplay. I believe the worst is on Part 1 because there is a ton of Sony Exclusive moments(the really slow walking with extensive talk that kinda kills the pacing :/).

If I'm enjoying it, I'm not opposed to a long game, @Markatron84 & @GASEOUS. My single playthrough in Fallout 4 took 950 hours, for Skyrim my single playthrough took over 1000, and for Fallout: New Vegas, I spent over 1100 hours in a single playthrough. So I can spend a long time playing one run, so long as I am enjoying it. I like to do everything, and so long as it is not a chore, I don't mind spending time doing it...

@Fiendish-Beaver my advice would be to not try and do everything in Rebirth specifically. I did everything in the first three areas. By the fourth area I gave up on ticking off every box; a lot of the side activities in Rebirth are just straight up bad.
