Following its prestige slot as the show closer for Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase last month, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will officially blow the doors off Gamescom 2025 in August.
Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley has announced the news on social media, adding that the game's 'worldwide reveal' will "kick off Gamescom in a massive way" - we assume it'll be the big show opener, then.
As for what you can expect to see from Black Ops 7 during the show, well, we're thinking quite a lot! We know that Geoff likes to hype things up so you can't always take his word as gospel, but given that the next Call of Duty is all but confirmed to launch later this year, Gamescom will likely lift the lid on this one in a big way. Expect a preview of the campaign, launch details, and maybe even some sort of beta announcement tied to the game's multiplayer reveal.
Anyway, we have just a few weeks until Gamescom gets in full swing, with this Opening Night Live showcase beginning at 11am PT / 2pm ET / 7pm BST on August 19th, before the in-person event goes ahead in Cologne. You can expect all the big reveals from Opening Night Live to be covered here at Pure Xbox, including all the juicy details on Black Ops 7.
