Last week was stacked with yet more Xbox handheld news - first through leaked images & details of the system itself, followed by some curious preparations that Microsoft seemed to be making for the device's upcoming launch. One of those preparations was a bunch of Ubisoft PC titles being brought over to the Microsoft Store - something the French publisher has now officially commented on.
Taking to social media today, Ubisoft has announced that 16 of its biggest PC titles are now available to buy on the Xbox PC app. None of these Ubisoft games were previously available on Microsoft's PC storefront - and some of them are years and years old at this point.
Of course, there's no official mention of the Xbox partner handheld device in here, but the timing of these games moving over is certainly curious. Last week's handheld leak pointed towards a reveal by Asus next week, and it looks like Microsoft and Ubisoft are making some preparations for that announcement and the device's following launch.
If you're curious, here are the 16 titles that have been brought over:
- Assassin's Creed Odyssey
- Assassin's Creed Origins
- Assassin's Creed Shadows
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla
- Far Cry 5
- Far Cry 6
- Far Cry New Dawn
- Immortals Fenyx Rising
- Riders Republic
- South Park: The Fractured But Whole
- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint
- Tom Clancy's The Division 2
- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands
- Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction
- Watch Dogs 2
- Watch Dogs: Legion
The only slight wrinkle to this news is that, seemingly, none of these titles are Xbox Play Anywhere compatible - meaning if you owned the games on console and wanted to play them on an Xbox PC device, for instance, you'd have to buy them again outright.
