Microsoft Rewards Is Getting An Important Spot On The New Xbox Dashboard

The current dashboard is really bad imo so I welcome a new one!

Why is really bad? I think it's the best dashboard of the three consoles. I would only get rid of the big tiles that should be optional but the UI is the best organised and most comprehensive.

@FatalBubbles Yes, because of the big tiles at the front, something that should be optional.

Remove the ads and let me pin my favourite games there instead, or something else that's actually useful.

I have an absurd amount of MS points but I don't think I need them displayed on the home screen.

Can someone explain to me what the point of gamerscore is? Is it purely a way to show off how many achievements you've earned? Does it serve any other purpose? I get the appeal of trying to earn all the achievements in a game as it scratches the completionist itch in people, but the score itself just seems a bit... pointless?

@themightyant agreed, i like the smaller game row’s’ and then they enlarge when selected. But shrink or get rid of that bottom row. Not to mention i still want HDR and they need to touch up the achievements page next. It’s dated as heck. This is still an improvement for me, but that goes to show how bad it needed revised.

@Banjo- i agree it’s the best of the big 3. I would still like to see HDR added, the achievements page needs an overhaul. The Ad’s really need to go or be shrunk. But overall it’s getting closer and i do prefer it over the other 2. PS5 is messy and take 10 clicks to do anything and has almost zero Game Library management. Plus it’s on the right side and take a long time to get to.

@Green-Bandit That's what I love about Xbox, in spite of having more options than the other two, the menus are easier to navigate. I agree about HDR because the lack of HDR in the UI makes the TV blink when pressing the Xbox button. The achievements should be their own tab, just like Quests are easier to reach now. The advertisements should be gone and the big tiles should be optional.

Another thing I love about Xbox is organising games in Groups. I have a group for each genre. When you check the installed games, you can arrange them by generation. The best thing that they added recently is the full libraries that let you check all your games, installed or not, plus the Games with Gold and Game Pass libraries. There's never been a console with better library management than Series S|X.

@Banjo- i agree. They have done really good work in the game library section. The PS5 game library is a mess. I like the improvements of this update and they got it so close that i would like to see them finish it off and fix the bottom and add HDR. But maybe in another year or so they will update it more. The achievements tab should be next, they haven’t done anything to achievements in forever and they mentioned they want to do something new to it. Can’t wait for the show in June and hope this new Home Screen makes it out soon. Maybe even after the show would be cool.

New dash is soooo close. If the ads MUST stay (which they will) they just need to shrink them to be the same size as the top row, opening up space for pins or groups. Two rows, same size, very clean.

I hate the Xbox dashboard.
It reminds me of an ADHD kids MySpace page, it even has adverts flashing up everywhere, just pure sensory overload.

The PS5 has the nicest dash in my opinion.

I'm not on the dashboard long enough to even be bothered about it, haha! XBOX on, game's on...
