'Hours and hours' I didn't think the game was that long with 5 or 6 stages. got them done in like 5 hours

@UKLAD There is much more meta-game past that - trying to unlock 100% takes about 40 hours.

It's a time travel game.

You will intend to play 30 minutes but when you next look at the clock you have somehow time travelled to 2am. Even then you will think it's ok to have just one more try.

In short if it clicks for you it's a lot of fun and very addictive.

Also Phil is right about garlic 🧄 very strong smell um skill. Pair it up with evolved knives so they don't have any cooldown you plow through all the hordes

@BBB I find that garlic doesn’t scale well - useful at the start but taking up a slot by the end.

But man what a game! I can totally relate. Mean to do one run and end up doing five!

My partner and I lost the entire weekend to this game. He was like, "but I don't like bullet hells" and I was like, "give it 2 minutes". 16 hours later...

15 hours for me so far. So addicting. Love it!

The thing is, the game is basically an idle clicker. It's addictive in the same way, and there is almost zero gameplay in the same way. It has good math, meaning they've done the numbers and things scale well, but none of the characters or levels feel appreciably different than the others. Each run will feel basically the same as the last. You will either turn your screen into a brain melting flash of spell effects and survive for 30 mins, or you wont. And once you've got the correct combination to survive, you barely have to try to survive every time. You have to really screw up bad to risk failure. It's addictive, but it's way, way overrated when people are talking about this as a GOTY contender to dethrone Elden Ring. Just kinda insane, and I'm no From fan.

I literally fell asleep at about 24 mins 2 nights ago, and didn't lose. It's like highway hypnosis.

@k3lt0n the garlic is good for the enhanced knockback, combined with the book it makes it so they can't get close. Get the book, the garlic, and the santa water for its damage. Evolve them and nothing will get close to you and you don't even have to move.

It's amazing how many people can still get addicted to such a simple and repetitive game like this, but I think that goes to show how the classic arcade game design is still appealing. This is why I love playing old arcade games, they are just like this. Simple games to pick up, and you're essentially just doing the same thing the whole time, but they make it fun to try and try again.

Given it a bit of a go in short sessions. Really lovely synergy between certain items. I’m not at the same level most people here are though.

I think my favorite things about this game is that #1 it's cross save, so I've been able to play while working on my pc and then on xbox seamlessly. Haven't really played any other games with cross save like that yet, it's a cool feature. And #2 it has 140 achievements lol. Which is just fun.

Edit: I take it back. It appears cross save broke my game. I unlocked some things on xbox and then upon syncing the data for pc they weren't unlocked, but the ability to unlock them is now gone, specifically the bracelet.

Edit 2: Deleting my save data on Xbox fixed it, if anyone else encounters this problem.

I figured I would download this and give it a try to see what the fuzz was all about and then, “after a few minutes” just go back to Persona 5…. I can’t put this game down….
