It's been a while since we last looked at the UK boxed charts, but this past week has been pretty interesting for a couple of reasons, one of which being that GTA V rocketed to second place after leaving Xbox Game Pass on August 8.
A specific breakdown of sales figures for the different platforms hasn't been provided, but the game's removal from Game Pass almost certainly had an effect, as it boasted a whopping 44% sales jump compared to the previous week.
The other interesting thing to note is that Hades finished in 8th place in the boxed charts, but only 7% of those sales were on Xbox. We didn't really expect the boxed version to be in demand considering Hades is included with Xbox Game Pass (and its digital sales would likely have been more popular on Xbox), but still, that's a very low number.
Here's a look at the top ten all formats chart for the week ending August 14th:

They keep hopping on and off Game Pass to get people hooked so they'll pay later.
Hahaha. GTA5 will be the launch title of PS6 and Xbox Series XL if this keeps up.
Those gamepass discounts when a title leaves surely help
Who the hell doesn't own this yet?
I don't understand how it is still charting after all these years.
Is it because it's cheaper to actually buy the game with free on-line credits than to actually buy on-line credits themselves?
If that's the reason, then it shouldn't really be counted as a sale, should it...?
good game, played it on pc a few years ago.
The console version is not very good. Even 8 year old pc's have better graphics.
Ngl i wish GTA VI flopped as hard as it could be because i don't want to see the same game still appearing on PS13 & Xbox Ultragiant X as fullpriced 16K pathtracing remaster.
I still don't like how Rockstar keeps using Game Pass as just another Free Play Days/Free Play Weekend, whatever XB calls theirs. They're the only ones really doing that. Time limited is one thing, but they just use it as brief demo access when there's already other Xbox (and Playstation) initiatives to do exactly that without jumping into the paid service with your demos. There really should be longer minimum access time rules in place for Game Pass so it doesn't degrade from paid library access service to revolving demos you pay money to play.
OTOH WHO is seriously still playing and buying this game? I mean, who? It's ancient. Everybody that could have cared at all already played it like a generation or two ago. Surely the kiddies just coming of age don't want to play grandpa's gangsta' game, do they? HOW is this thing still selling at all?
Nice to see Hades charting.
