In case you missed the news a couple of weeks ago, today marks the removal of Grand Theft Auto V on Xbox Game Pass for console, which takes place exactly four months to the day it was re-added to the service back in April.

No explanation has been provided for why GTA V is leaving so quickly, although it stuck around for a similar timeframe last year on Game Pass, and publisher Take-Two recently explained that it believes a Game Pass model "can make sense for deep catalog titles, but it doesn't really make sense for frontline titles".

GTA V will return later this November on Xbox (but not Game Pass) in the form of an expanded and enhanced version of the game for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, which Take-Two believes will be "highly appealing" for fans.

We haven't got any other games leaving Xbox Game Pass today, although a few more are slated to be removed in a week's time on August 15, including Final Fantasy VII, Darksiders Genesis and Don't Starve: Giant Edition.
