Xbox Exec: No Plans For A Major Event With World Premieres Anytime Soon

There have been some rumblings recently that Microsoft might be planning one or two gaming events in March, but Xbox's Aaron Greenberg has taken to Twitter to "set expectations" about what's on the way.

Greenberg, who is GM of Xbox Games Marketing at Microsoft, was responding to an article that suggested Microsoft's rumoured 'What's New For Gaming' event on March 23rd might include news about FromSoftware's Elden Ring, but he warned that the company doesn't have anything like this planned in the near future.

"Just to set expectations: this is not happening. There are always things we have in the works, but nothing coming soon that would feature game announcements or world premieres like this."

This doesn't necessarily mean Microsoft won't have an event in store for March, however, as it's been suggested that the company will likely do something surrounding the Bethesda acquisition, which is expected to complete soon.

As for the Elden Ring news? This rumour comes from industry insider and VentureBeat reporter Jeff Grubb, who admittedly never suggested the news would arrive as part of an Xbox event, so it looks like some wires were crossed!
