We've got some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that Forza Horizon 3 is being delisted on Xbox this Sunday, September 27th, but the good news is that it's on sale at up to 70% off until that date.
The game is officially reaching "End of Life" status, meaning it'll no longer be available to purchase digitally, and the same applies to its DLC and additional content including the popular Hot Wheels expansion.
You'll find links to purchase the game from the Microsoft Store below:
- Forza Horizon 3 Standard Edition (£6.59 / $9.89)
- Forza Horizon 3 Ultimate Edition (£17.99 / $20.99)
Fortunately, Playground Games has confirmed that Forza Horizon 3 (including its DLC) will still work with backwards compatibility on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, running at 4K and 1080p (30fps) respectively.
And don't forget that Forza Horizon 4 is also getting an enhancement for the next-generation consoles on their day of release on November 10th, arriving with 4K, 60fps support on Xbox Series X.
Are you picking up Forza Horizon 3 before it's delisted this weekend? Let us know in the comments.

It should be kept available on gamepass.
Already own it and bit on the DLC. My kids are nuts about Hot Wheels, so we'll have fun playing it.
“Delisted”...the future of digital gaming 😕
@Nightcrawler71
the problem is licensing not that its digital, disc also will sell out, they don't press them endlessly
I've mentioned this before but it really kills the forza hub reward system when you can't play the games. I'm a little annoyed I can't access my Forza 6 apex dlc anymore, even though I bought it. Kinda hard to get to the next tiers if games keep being delisted.
>30fps

Have the game physically and got the dlc cheap a few weeks back..
Just a quick question, will next gen after I install the game physically on Series X the dlc I paid for would still be ok to download?? I presume yes??
Another issue comes into play is if you only own the game physically and the game is digitally delisted you can never play it on next gen via backwards compatibility if the next gen machine is digital only....
I bought it! Though I don't have a XBONE, I'm looking forward to checking it out on Series S/X!
This has been on my "to play" list for years, finally took the plunge - FOMO was hard on delisted status.
4k Xbox X enhanced, and Series X confirmation was the decider.
Such a great game, it really is.
I just beat this game & it was fantastic. I am now playing Forza Horizon 4, which I like even better! The Forza Horizon games are the best racing games on the planet & it’s not even close.
@Thretosix It's about the rights you realize
@Menchi but I thought microsoft don't lie.... Lol
Only time will tell exactly how many of the older games get the upgrades as promised
@Nightcrawler71 to be fair: delisting is also a norm on physical market. You just get to trade with those that already owned a copy.
When there are third party licenses, this is always an issue. Look at all the Marvel games made by Activision, its extremely hard to get many of them in physical form, and of course, impossible in digital form.
As far as Forza goes, the issue tends to be the soundtrack licensing. I am not sure if I prefer this approach, or the GTA4 approach, where they just removed all the music they lost license for.
If the work was worth-while, they could come up with a "ReMix" version of the game, with a new soundtrack. They could keep selling the ReMix version, while potentially offering it for free to any owner of the original version.
@RedShirtRod I'm confused, why is that DLC no longer available? I thought once bought, it was yours? Or was that DLC some multiplayer mode that has since been discontinued?
I got this as a present, it’s a fantastic game! Shame it’s being delisted.
@Valhalla91 It’s a shame the resolution you guys would be playing native backcompat games dating back to 2005 will be only upgraded to 0px.
Oh I see you are a fresh troll from pushsquare joining 2 hours ago. I don’t get how many sock accounts you guys make to waste time here. 😂
BUT..BUT...
“crossgen is bad” 😭
“crossgen helds back” 😭🤮🤮
“we believe in generations” 😂😂😂🤮
“PC gameplay” 🤣🤣🤣
Well guess what now u gotta pay for 70$ a pop DLC and upgrades.
DEAL WITH IT 🦄s 🤧
@BANJO delisted in this case means not for sale after a certain point. If you have already bought it digitally or have a physical disc it will download as normal.
@Senua yeah playstation have lied I'm not sticking up for them so what your point?
@Tharsman I have no idea why they shut all of apex down. The dlc was for a couple tracts that they stuck in an "event" section along with free updates. It all ended August 1st without any notice. So far only apex seems to close dlc. I can still access horizon 1's and beyond. Kinda puts a sour note on the whole thing and I'm a little distrusting of Turn 10 going forward.
I have all the DLC for all Forza Horizon games that have been delisted due to licensing issues & they all work fine.
@Senua
It is hilarious how many PlayStation fans come over to this website just to troll Xbox. I thought they had all of those “great exclusives” from Sony to keep them busy?
I guess not.
But you have to understand that the Ponies are a bit triggered these days. They just watched their corporate God (Sony) look like a complete clown show day after day now while Microsoft just continues to impress.
@Nermannn same!!
