When Quick Resume first arrived back at the start of the Xbox Series X and Series S generation in 2020, it was one of the most exciting new features — the ability to jump back into your game immediately without rebooting it from scratch.
I was initially a massive convert, and it's something I've used here and there over the past six years, but a few bad experiences in the early years had scared me away somewhat. In particular, Quick Resume used to be poor for dealing with certain games that utilised online servers, often refusing to reconnect whatsoever until I'd restarted the title from scratch, while other games sometimes ran into issues where they'd crash or cause bugs.
