@NEStalgia i left mine update over night but was playinh cod at the time woke up this morning and had nothing dont think its valhalla thats the issue just unlucky i guess lol
@NEStalgia I hope they do to. Thanks for your concern bud. Fingers crossed yours will be fine. Just a few dodgy one's as all console launches have. It did happen while playing valhalla, but I just think that's to do with the popularity of the game. Just coincidence 🤞
Haha, thanks. Fingers crossed for mine (and most of ours!) There's always those few duds, and hopefully that's all it is. I've been through 360's RROD and PS3's equivalent YLOD....so hoping for no repeats here! (and maybe I'll buy Valhalla in a week or two when it seems safe.... )
@NEStalgia Yeah, been through the RROD myself. Thankfully only once. Hope this is the only time this happens this time too. Never had that with any of the playstations (not being a playstation fan boy 🙄) Picking up the PS5 next week. 🙏 It doesn't happen to that too
@Longlouie ive got the same issue, got my xbox yesterday... and I downloaded gears 5 today played 10 minutes of it and my xbox just switched off.. no warning or anything.
Changed the power plug and everything.. the xbox is dead..
@Feetz sounds like the same problem as mine. At least mine lasted about 7 hrs. 10 mins must be well frustrating. Well I hope the sort this problem out quickly for the one's with the problem and not just send us another console that gets the same problem 🤞
Mine froze while playing FH4 and I had to go back to the menu. FH5 now won't start. Might get to the intro if I'm lucky. Watch Dogs Legion which I have a disc copy of won't play past me.hitting start either, and the disc got jammed (removed with pin) . They just go back to Xbox home screen. Weirdly, Tetris seems to play OK tho.
Sometimes the graphics are corrupt on the games that won't play.
@HisD1sc1ple Yeah I was starting to become suspicious about this as well. Because honestly, the more new members that I see write posts like these in such a short amount of time the more skeptical I become. Not to mention that I genuinely refuse to believe that a person played on their Series X for 10 minutes, then it shut off and doesn't work anymore. That's absolutely ridiculous.
Don't really understand what the motive is for a collective effort on this site though. Pure Xbox is not huge enough for this thread to even gain any significant attention. So it honestly feels like these people are coming from a site close to this one, e.g. Push Square, and are making these posts just to troll us.
@HisD1sc1ple You will see eventually that this isn't fake, especially on my thread. It will start to be a more common subject on line as the next few days go on. If I was a playstation fan boy I would be telling everyone to stay clear of the series x, but I just think it's as it happened before on most new console launches, some will come out faulty. If I was a fan boy trying to stir things up, I wouldn't have the series x console, therefore I wouldn't know that at the base of the console there is a tiny little hole which is the manual eject for the disc drive. Even the Microsoft customer representative didn't know about it. It's only because another guy with the same problem on here told me about it.
I can assure you I am a genuine pee'd off series X user. Like many I expect, I've been on Google and joined forums to find people with similar issues. It is in fact quite a common problem, there are reports of it everywhere. I've just coughed up £450 and I can't use my console like many others. Clearly there is no help here, just rudeness, and I'm just wasting my time.
@KarlX I joined for the same reason and have had help from quite a few people. It's just the few guys on here that just can't believe it because they just happen to be one of the lucky one's to get a series x that hasn't broken, and hopefully it won't
@Longlouie I don't know what isn't too believe. I've just been reading thru a huge thread on Reddit. So many posts (427 comments) I gave up in the end and added my issue to that! As mine still boots I hope an update will sort it out.
As for being a playstation fanboy, I have a whole gaming centre with all the major consoles and of course, Xbox, Xbox 360, One X Project Scorpio. Not that I should need to prove anything. #RollsEyes
@KarlX Well I certainly hope that they can fix your problem with an update, finger's crossed. I'm same as you, still have my xbox one console, so can still play the new game's. Also picking up the playstation 5 next Thurs. Just hope my bad luck doesn't go with that too 🤞 I expect it's going to take till near Christmas for Microsoft to get a replacement series x back to me, if not then I'll be looking for a refund
