@Kraven I downloaded stalker 2 as well. Not sure what to expect since I've never played a stalker game.

@Kraven Welcome back, I’m hoping to look at Stalker 2 also, it looks brilliant. Same as you too @NintendoByNature I’m new to the series, not sure what to expect.

It’s great all the dragon age games are available on Series. I bought the (at the time) trilogy for next to nothing.

I just got the platinum trophy for Dragon Age: Veilguard (PS5) and loved all 125 hours I put into the game. I’m glad I was able to complete it tonight—it gives me enough time to focus on Stalker 2. And I’m off work tomorrow, so that makes things better.

After the lukewarm reception on stalker 2 I've decided I'll just wait and keep playing Metal Slug Tactics

I have been posting on Last Game You Beat thread, but there are some games that I have tried and haven't beaten and that's unusual in my case. Thankfully, I played them on Game Pass so I didn't pay anything extra. Without further delay, the abandoned playthroughs are...

Anthem
I was excited about this one back in the day, but when I realised that it wasn't that great, I didn't buy it. The only thing I enjoyed about Anthem was the flying mechanics, but they are more limited than I expected. The gameplay is so boring, both the exploration and shooting. The missions are dull, the menus are horrible and the world navigation is sickening. Finally, the story and characters are a borefest.

The Outer Worlds
I liked it at first, but then I acknowledged how tedious the dialogues and the quests are and how superficial, boring and even stupid the whole game is. It's the first game by Obsidian I have played besides Grounded, but I'm curious about Fallout New Vegas, although I haven't played any Fallout game yet. I tried the demo of 4 on Xbox One or Xbox One X, but nothing else.

Deathloop
I played this one the least, just for two hours. I understand that the game encourages players to learn things about the environment for subsequent loops, something that works better in tiny games like Twelve Minutes and Resident Evil 7 Banned Footage Vol 1. I just couldn't care to deal with so much in this game just to make a perfect run in a very bloated game when I was not even having fun.

I'm interested in similar and opposite opinions about these games. Deathloop has a 90/100 score. 😂

@NintendobyNature Considering that many complaints are about technical issues, I will play that game once they have been patched.

@Kraven I haven't played any Dragon Age game yet, but I got them for very little money when I got my first Xbox (One).

@Banjo- yep, I get it. My issues are more with what the game actually is. So I know it won't be for me.

@NintendoByNature Right. I don't know if it will be for me either, but because of Game Pass I will try it. 😁

@Banjo- That’s one area where Xbox succeeds very well—in their backward compatibility department. I honestly think that is the main reason I own the Series X. I’m looking forward to starting Origins this weekend, but also dabble in Stalker 2. I tried out the latter for a couple of hours this morning before work and enjoyed what I played. It wasn’t buggy at all, although the frame rate dipped in a few spots. The game is brutal though, but I liked it because it made me strategize and think about my next move instead of rushing in guns blazing.

@Kraven Yeah often thinking about the infrastructure that must be neddded to maintain that backward compatibility and the cost associated with that.. Hope Ms can afford it next year..

I booted up Dragon Age Origins for the very first time, thanks to Xbox Series X and Game Pass. So far, I’m very impressed with how rich in lore the game is right out of the gate, and the amount of animations on screen via cutscenes and whatnot. The writing has been excellent so far, too. I can understand why original fans were disappointed in Veilguard although I enjoyed it immensely and got the platinum trophy for it on my PS5.

@Kraven Nice I hope you will enjoy the game man. As I have mentioned elsewhere I think that it is very cool how Dragon Age have gotten a return and a kind revansh as of late.

Kind hope that the game will sell well so Bioware can make more games which I think would be good for the industry and like maybe make it morel ikely that will see the Kotor remake come to life one day. Something which I guess would be cool for everybody.

@Kraven Welcome back. Nice to hear your thoughts about the latest Xbox release. I started Red Fall just before Stalker 2 launched. I know Red Fall was panned, but so far looks like a story mode of Fortnite, which is not bad. Performance is perfect on Series X and the weapons are fine. Maybe it gets repetitive, we'll see.

I agree, backwards compatibility is awesome because it's free and enhanced. I also love FPS Boost, free cloud saves and my favourite feature of the generation, Quick Resume.

Had to drop Metal Slug Tactics which I was really enjoying up until now. There are 4 zones with multiple missions in each zone. The bosses are no joke so taking down one took me a good amount of time to finally beat each. But, after defeat you have to replay each zone, which, is fine size zoned are completed in 3 missions before the boss. My issue is if you lose at any mission in zone 4, you go back to missions 1 of zone 3. For that, I don't have time for it. Very much a waste for me if I'm being honest. Too bad, I was really having a great time.

I’m taking a short reprieve from Dragon Age Origins. As much as I am enjoying it, I find the game incredibly difficult. I just reached the Circle of Magi (the mages) and doing that story line. I don’t like being in the fade although it’s cool to get a handful of shapeshifting abilities. However, fighting enemies in this space, particularly mages—and doing it solo—is highly infuriating. You can basically get one-shot(ed), and the amount of backtracking is tiresome. Aside from this annoying section, the game is nothing short of incredible. Subsequently, I started Space Marine 2. I just finished the prologue and I’m very impressed. This game is an absolute blast to pay, and harkens back to the days of playing Gears of War 1-3 on the 360, with a buddy.

I just finished Space Marine 2. What a great game! I’m excited to play cooperatively when my best friend has the time. In the meantime, I properly started Stalker 2, and so far the game is awesome. The most recent patches have helped tremendously. The level of immersion this game has is in a league of its own. I’m playing more reserved, being patient, and really planning my excursions. And I’m only 3-hours in. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.
