@VisitingComet1 I don't take it the wrong way because I like dogs and I posted something similar when I started playing. They're very aggressive, but you can scare them with the whip. They stay docile after that and may even leave the area. I'm glad that you're enjoying your adventure.
The game is full of culture. Loving Gizeh as well. It's like being there.
@VisitingComet1 Also, in the Vatican you can use the Blackshirt uniform to masquerade as a soldier. In Gizeh there is the Digsite outfit. Some people and captains are able to see through your masquerade, but they are still very useful.
I’m about to beat Indiana Jones. I absolutely loved the game. With that said, I’m kind of bummed out because two achievements are bugged for me, stopping me from getting all 1000/1000 points. I hope there will be patches in the future to remedy this.
Just finished the game and I REALLY REALLY liked it... for the most part. Exploration was awesome, immersion was immaculate, story was engaging, and the voice acting was perfect. However, the combat was complete and total garbage. Like, so bad I can't believe they shipped the game in this state. Enemy AI is attracious, gunplay feels non-existent since you basically die in one hit, and the excuses for "boss fights" were increrdibly jank. It's a shame because I really love so much about this game and how different it feels from many other triple A games, but the combat drops it a couple points for me. I would've legit given it a 9.5 or 10, but because of the problems, I'm gonna drop it to an 8 instead. Still awesome, but man was it frustrating as heck sometimes.
Played a few more hours today and completed a few side quests in the Vatican. Right now I am trying to find the black shirt disguise. I manged to get the camera and I have been having a ton of fun with that. More often then not I use it as a spyglass to plan out my movements or watch guards. Still really enjoying this game.

Finished Indiana Jones and the Great Circle yesterday after roughly 30 hours of playtime. Absolutely phenomenal game and my second favourite game of the year after Persona 3: Reload. It was just such an engrossing experience from start to finish. It felt like experiencing an original movie, but most importantly, it played like what you would expect for an Indiana Jones game. Captivating story, well-crafted characters, a multitude of locations to visit and explore, tons of puzzles to solve and thrilling combat.
I just want to stress how brilliant the puzzles were. I basically never had any problems with solving them, all the while I thought the game respected the player by giving us the necessary tools and then letting us figure out the puzzles with no assistance. The puzzles were never too easy or too hard, the difficulty was just about right for the vast majority of them. And it was satisfying as hell whenever you solved one. Words cannot express just how much I loved the puzzles in this game.
In contrast to other similar franchises, such as Uncharted, the Great Circle felt first and foremost like a game. Each level was like a sandbox where you were free to explore, tackle missions, collect stuff and basically have fun beating the crap out of the enemies. The levels were fairly large but they were still densely packed with content. There aren't too many of them, which made each one memorable. I can barely remember all the places you visit in an Uncharted game, but I will always remember the levels from the Great Circle as you spend so much time in each of them.
The combat is heavily reminiscent of the Condemned series, which I coincidentally experienced for the first time just a few months ago. It's in first-person, you find melee weapons everywhere in the levels, each one has a durability meter and you can also wield firearms. You can even use firearms as melee weapons, which I believe was also a thing in Condemned.
All in all, I had a blast playing through this game. It's the first time in a long time for me where a new release has actually offered some refreshing gameplay compared to most games these days.
Back with an update. I managed to find the giants Tomb and escaped that tonight. While exploring the Tomb I managed to find a few relics and some notes, finding the secrets is just so much fun. I also like how the story is progressing.

I'm still quite early in the game, but this is my gripe and I agree with this.
Otherwise I'm enjoying everything else about it. I'm going to try my best to push through because I don't want this to spoil an otherwise great game, but I guess time will tell on whether it has enough to keep me hooked and see it through.
So a quick question. Does anyone know if you are able to go back to a previous level to get collectibles and side quests you may have missed? Part of the reason I haven't moved on from the Vaticain is because I am afraid to continue the main story and then won't be able to get the side stuff I miss.

@Banjo- Ah ok thanks. I have yet to get the Blackshirt but I was afraid that if I leave I won't be able to come back. I know I can probably look it up, but I am trying to avoid spoilers.

I beat it with all collectibles and achievements. According to my Xbox (Game Card, Official Club, Progress, Stats), I have played it for 83 hours! I think I have said enough about it already, but it deserves all the praise it gets.
Don't get me wrong, I love some mindless action every now and then, but Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has traditional mechanics that challenge the intelligence of the players, with difficult puzzles that are still logical, unlike other games where you have to solve them by reverse engineering the random procedure of the developer. This game has no automatic gameplay nor linear progression. It's a combination of the best of the old and the best of the new. It's challenging, but not a time waster, with excellent level design, stunning graphics and beautiful music surrounding the player. The script is a great film and the cultural value of ancient cultures in this game is remarkable and immersive. On top of the rewarding content everywhere, there are tiny quests that are not even tracked, that makes the world really alive and even more interesting to explore. This is a game I almost thought it could not exist in 2024 and I'm so glad that it exists, because it's the best game of 2024 and more.
I didn't follow guides, except for the ancient relics final puzzle. After solving it, you learn what happened to the Ark and Locus.
I'm at sukhothai now so i think I'm in the closing hours of the game from what I can tell. Unless the last section is quite long. Its been absolutely great so far so I'm excited to see where this leads.
Haven't really had much of an issue with enemy camps until sukhothai. I've seen 3 so far and while I really want to explore them, there's at least 20 guards all over and it's nearly impossible to get past them without taking them out. And it's quite easy go get caught. Are these camps In this level worth it, or should i just stick to yhe quests and leave these alone? Side quests so far definitely have been. I just did 2 amazing side quests in this level and I'm still amazed at the shear quality of them in this game.
@NintendoByNature It's a game definitely worth exploring. In Sukhothai, head to Voss' Camp first in the north area. Between the big and small buildings, you'll find the Royal Uniform and Key on a table, that will let you masquerade as a soldier, like the Blackshirt uniform in the Vatican and the Wehrmacht Uniform in Gizeh. Another tip for Sukhothai is calling Gina on the radio at any of the boat docks when you find yourself far away from the boat. This will let you explore the area freely. The boat docks are marked on the map. Another piece of advice, when you find a cogwheel puzzle, don't leave without all the small cogwheels. Inside and outside the puzzle, the poles tell you how many pieces you need to solve each puzzle.
