I'm currently playing Forza Motorsport. Some of the achievements are terrible. With levelling 30 cars to level 50 the absolute worst.

Who at turn 10 designs the achievement list? It's rubbish every game.

@AgentCooper what game do you fancy running through AC? Halo 2 on heroic maybe?

If I recall, there is a playlist section. So we could run the Master Chief playlist (all games In order). I think it's normal difficulty with no extra rules. Halo 1-2-3 and possibly 4. The only thing I would be wary of is one of us losing progress so you can host if you want?

Also to everyone else in the sub. If there are any games on gamepass with a high onlune multiplayer (but relatively easy) achievement list. I have a lot of time off in August and am not going on holiday this year. Let me know. I will be delighted to spend some time racking up points and playing games. My garden can sod off.

@themcnoisy I agree that the achievements in the Forza Motorsport series are terrible, very grindy and unenjoyable to obtain. Forza Horizon‘s achievements in comparison are much better. I’m just happy to go for easy non-grindy achievements and I’m also glad I’m not a completionist, too many games and not enough hours in the day for that.

I recently bought Dead Rising 4 in the sale despite finishing the story when I rented it upon it’s release and bought the season pass when the game was in Game Pass but recently noticed that I haven’t finished the Capcom Heroes dlc story so I’ll be starting that tomorrow.

@AgentCooper I never understand why people double or triple dip buying the same game, especially when they are the same versions with no enhancements/improvements. What’s the story with that? Obviously your entitled to do what you like with your money and your choice how you spend your time playing games even if it’s the same one on another system, is it that you love the game so much that you want to support the devs as much as you can?

Even I’m guilty of triple dipping with GTA V (Xbox 360, One, Series X) but that’s because it came with significant improvements and also I wanted to keep playing it on the current console I owned at the time. Dead Rising is another one I’ll be triple dipping with when the new Deluxe Remaster is out (I’ll be waiting for it to be in a sale though) but again all came with improved versions after each release on newer consoles.

@MaccaMUFC Strangely I was pottering about in Forza and was kicked off the Internet, game basically restarted offline and asked me to redo the settings which you get at the start of the game. So possibly it's done me a favour and I can uninstall it rofl 🤣

The progression is so backward and stupid. It's all well and good having amazing graphics and at times, FMs graphics are outstanding. (They can also look terrible with some cars and tracks) but I think the developers forgot it's a game. Mario Kart is bare bones but it works as the courses are short and suitable for quick sessions. Smashing out a whole cup of 4 races in half an hour (or less sometimes). Forza races are 15 minutes each (or longer) in cars of variable quality, little in the way of surprises, Coming upto 2 hours to finish a cup or around 10 hours to finish a series. If you could carry a car through multiple cups, yeah the progression would work. But you don't. The races and practice are too long, the levelling up is too grindy, there's nothing to do outside of racing (like in forza 7 with car bowling, Horizon with stunts or MK with battling). I really want to like Forza Motorsport, the handling is perfect. But I'm just wasting my own time.

@MaccaMUFC for me double dip happened either because the game is no longer on a system I have connected to the TV or (in most cases) because I have played it on Switch, loved it, and I want to replay it with achievements

@AgentCooper I think I have bought mass effect 1-3 and played through the remastered version on both the PS4 and the Xbox. What a series!

I'm just finishing the forza career achievements, gone as far as is reasonable in Halo MCC and finished off Elena temple. I have a feeling my achievement hunting will slow to a crawl as I've just installed Octopath traveller 2. Apparently triple digit runtimes are the usual.

Recently refinished Shadow of Tomb Raider (as I had replayed the other two at the game club) for the first time on Xbox and it was vary manageable to get 1000+ GS although not sure it will be possible still to get full gamerscore as the servers appears to offline for the multiplayer.

@Balta666 well played mate. I've never been a fan of tomb raider. I got lost in the first game on the PS1 and never went back.

@themcnoisy I like the OG which I played back in the 90s on PC, however the reboot trilogy is another whole level and some of my favourite games of all time (although I never played them myself, some say they are close to the uncharted gameplay)

@Balta666 that’s really interesting. I poured a decent chunk of time into the reboot’s first game but didn’t think much. I should try the other two to see how they fare.

@Yousef- well if the first was not to your taste can't say the other make things very different (apart they removed quick time events). The first is my favourite from a story perspective but Rise is great too (many favourite)
Shadow is definitely the worst of the 3 but enjoyable

So another lucrative month with the achievement hunting! In the last 13 days I accrued 12k achievements which is boss! I've hit my target and can now have a relaxing month on Octopath Traveller 2 and Diablo 4.

It was a good month for my gamerscore (although nothing compatible with @themcnoisy's ) with 3k+ and I believe only the second time I got that. The biggest contributors are shadow of tomb raider, as previously mentioned, and dungeons of Hinterberg (1000GS).

@Balta666 I've just been playing games which plump up my Gamerscore (Bluey, Botany Manor and Mafia Story) with a few bigger retail games (Samurai Shodown, Forza MotorSport, Powerwash simulator) inbetween.

It's actually becoming harder to invest in RPGs ATM. I game in my living room and it's been like halfway house these last few weeks. Damn family rofl 🤣 So throwing on something quick is preferable to an immersive game as I'm not allowed to be.

@AgentCooper I enjoyed it. It is quite chill in both puzzles and fighting and very easy to complete

This month was average for me with around 1500GS as most games I played were quite stingy with achievements (Blue Dragon I am looking at you...)

I finished Blue dragon, MGS V (+ground zeroes) and Darksiders and also dabbled with Steamworld Heist 2 and Harmony: the fall of reverie (which I have finished today)

@Balta666 I've had another mental month. My wife went on holiday with 2 of my kids and her family (i stayed at home as my 16 y.o son has started at a football club on a course with football as an aside) so I played more than I was expecting.

Add to that. A game I just picked up today for £3 in the sale has 4500 achievement points! Tony and Clyde it's called. Never heard of it. It's actually like hotline miami with worse handling and weird glitches. I've nearly unlocked all the achievements. It's a bit sad really. Super Woden which had 4000 achievements was pretty tough and I had to invest a lot of time, Spyro with 3000 is 3 full games, this with 4500 kind of makes a mockery out of the whole system, but I will finish it nonetheless 😀
