Finished up all the side quests, including all bountie in Dawnshore so now I am just wrapping up a few places I missed on my map and then I will be moving on to the main story quests. Right now I have all my gear to it's highest level possible, I am not finding any of the mats that I need to upgrade my gear so I am thinking I will find them in the next zone. Still loving this game and I can't wait to see the next area. So far I have clocked 1 day and 4 hours on it but it doesn't feel like that.

I'm about 6hrs in and still tinkering with Paradis and all its side quests. Its grabbing me more, but there is so much to see and do, it's kind of cumbersome at times. I have the feeling ill be at this for a while.

@NintendoByNature I will be honest it's going to be one of those games that I play in between other games. I can easily come and go with Avowed. Play a few hours here, explore an area for an hour or two, jump on and craft something for a few minutes, log on to do a bounty and I am good. It's so relaxing to be honest. Definitely great for a palette cleanser when I am playing another game. For some reason I don't feel like I need to rush through Avowed.

@Tasuki I get that. For a game as sizable as this, I can't put it down for days and come back. I'll forget way too much. It's one of those games that I need to focus on and keep the storyline moving along. My only issue so far is how easy it is to get side tracked and rack up a list of side quests. It's not overwhelming, but it does put a dent in continuing on the main story. I'll be playing this and XCX simultaneously. Needless to say, my time will be filled for a while.

@NintendoByNature For me that doesn't phase me I guess it's from all the years I played World of Warcraft. I can not do the main quest for awhile and be OK when I pick it up again. I usually only get 1 day a week to really get a good amount of play time, the rest of the time I just log on to do a side quest or some crafting and that's maybe an hour at the most. I also believe that there is a quest tab where you can read past quest that you completed to refresh your memory if need be.

Played about an hour last night mainly just climbing around Paradis looking for chests and other hidden goodies. I did mange though to explore the Clavengir's house and visit the temple to further the main story line. Now I just need to seek out The Watcher.

@Tasuki I just did that quest last night and now I've moved onto the second map and that's where I turned it off last night. About 11hrs in.

@NintendoByNature Nice, I am about 26 hours in but as I said before I like to take my time and explore lol. I have the day off from work tomorrow so I am planning to sit down and wrap up the first area. Other then the main quest the only thing I have yet to do is find the totem base to be able to build the totem but according to my son, it should be in the area of the Watcher. So once I knock that out I will be able to move on.

@Tasuki good stuff have fun. I'll probably do a 2 or 3 hr play time of xcx tonight then back to avowed tomorrow. Just keep flipping back and forth between them

Well I was able to complete the totem which gave me alot of good bonuses to my party, and finished the main story line in Dawnshore. I enjoyed exploring the Dungeon and in the end decided to spare my assassin, not sure why but it just felt right. I did decide to switch my second load out from the arquebus to a spellbook and the lightning pistol. Main reason I did was I was using the spellbook as a utility item and was tired of having to swap out the arquebus and the spellbook and then not having a weapon with the spellbook.

Anyway I am now on to the second area.

Arrived in Emerald Stair last night and got to the first town. I didn't do much story wise just did a bit of exploration and gathered some of the materials I needed to upgrade my weapons and armor. From what I have seen it's alot different then Dawnshore looks like the main thing here is the undead and sentient plant life particularly fungus. Still I can't wait to full explore this zone.

On a side not I have been using the spellbook/pistol combo more and it's alot of fun, particularly casting firespells. I still prefer dual welding my sword and axe, and that's what I am speced for but it's got me thinking of maybe doing a magic build my next playthrough.

I'm on the 3rd map now, and just got to town. After now seeing it's pretty much the same gameplay as the first two maps, I'm wondering if there's anything special that'll happen on the backend of this game? I'm for sure enjoying my time, but with so little time these days to game, I'm just second guessing myself if it'll be worth the 20 more hours to play through. I've already put 20 in.

@NintendoByNature I am still enjoying it, I just got to Emeral Stair and met Giatta. Game play wise it reminds me of why I enjoyed Dungeon and Dragons in my youth. Just exploring everything and learning about the world while building my character. The environmental story telling finding something new everytime I play.

What build did you end up going with? If you are finding yourself getting bored perhaps changing up your build thus changing your play style. I recent started using a pistol and a spellbook and that had made combat alot more fun for me.

@Tasuki yea maybe I should try that. I've mostly been using a long sword for one, and the other is an ice elemental axe with shield

Did a few of the bounties and side quests in Emerald Stair tonight. Manged to get to level 10 and took the scavenger ability to help with crafting. Speaking of crafting I was able to upgrade all my weapons and armor to fine level 2 now.

I've finished the game at just under 28hrs. I had a solid time with it. I'll admit though, the last section of the game, I turned the difficulty down just to power through. I was ready to move on with south of midnight launching this week. It reminded me of a more beautiful version of the Witcher for some reason. I don't think this is goty material for me, but it's definitely one I enjoyed enough to see it through.

@NintendoByNature Did you do the side quests and explore or just power through the main story?

I am wondering cause I am about 28 hours in and just barely into Emerald Stair.

@Tasuki for the first 3 maps of the game, I did almost all side quests. Once I got to the last 2 maps, I only did some and powered through.

NintendoByNature

Tasuki

@NintendoByNature Ah ok that makes sense. I am not interested in powering through to be honest. I am enjoying this game so much I don't feel the need to rush through it. Then again I never seen the point of rushing through any game to be honest. I mean what's the point not like you win some kind of reward for being the first to beat a game or finishing it under a certain time limit.
