@Dimey my favourite game since I played it on Switch (what a great port by the way!). I have since replayed the main campaign on Xbox but not yet the dlcs
I also tried gears, it being another tent pole franchise and all, I like it, not as much as halo but I’d say I am definitely a fan. Still working on it though, so far I’ve only played the first 2.
@Banjo- While initially hard for me to grasp what was so enjoyable, your review has made me reconsider some things. I might boot it up on Game Pass soon
The open world component of the game certainly has its flaws, for example collecting the various memory tokens becomes repetitive in the long run and personally I would have preferred slightly smaller islands. The game levels, on the other hand, are perfect, fun and frenetic. It is a 8/10 game for me.
I finished Baldur’s Gate 3. Very impressed! It really sets the bar for this sort of game. I managed to get a happy-ish ending (I went to live in Hell but at least I had my girlfriend with me). There’s also a nice epilogue set six months after the end where you can catch up with your crew. And I didn’t have a single problem with lost saves or anything like that.
Just finished Leisure Suit Larry Wet Dreams Dry Twice. Very very funny game and it is better than the first one. Even if some parts are a bit too difficult and I’ve encountered some graphical/localization issues, it was very enjoyable!
Psychonauts 2. Had a solid time with it. Some of the bosses were real pains in the you know what. But the combat was decent enough, love the animations and art work. Story was pretty good overall, and the characters were super fun. Overall, 8/10 for me.
Prince of Persia the lost crown with 1000GS and what a masterpiece it is! Fun from begining to end. I was expecting to have a hard time on bosses after Dread but actually by the endgame I was so stupidly strong from exploring that all main bosses were all done and dusted in a maximum of 2 attempts (not complaining)
@Balta666 wow you banged that one out fast! How many hours? I'm about 5 or so in thus far and I'm using the guided exploration option to avoid time wasting.
@NintendoByNature to beat the final boss about 22h without guided exploration and trying to do everything I could before the fight. After it I went full "tell me what I missed and tell me how to solve puzzles I struggled" to finish all achievements and that took about 2:30 extra hours
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Good, but not great. I thought it kind of dragged a bit. I would have liked a great 15 hour game instead of an ok 30 hour game.
@Balta666 can't wait! Really enjoying my time with it. Budget game, good amount of hours, great gameplay, awesome abilities, stunning environments, amazing combat, etc. I hope this is a great success for ubisoft. We need more of this.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and I liked it but not adored it. As I mentioned several times I don't do horror (had some bad experiences with the first resident evil games and I dread jump scares) reason why I always skipped this one and because of that I knew from the start about the Lie which obviously removes a lot of the tension. I also made myself more comfortable by putting the brightness to the max, but I still felt the game was very dark at times although I managed to cheese the blindness trials as I could easily see where to go and avoid the scary creatures.
I did play on Auto difficulty but I did not die once to the combat so not sure how that affectedy experience, as all attacks are easily dodged as as long as you take your time and position yourself well there is no problems. In this way I only died probably 6-8 times due to environmental hazards like fire and shadows, etc.
Finally I like the Vikings setting and was always looking forward to finding the runes to hear the backstory (found everyone on the first playthrough) but not so much about Senua's story lol. I hope they go a little bit more focused on the why she has the voices in the sequel.
Regardless of it I am happy I pushed myself to play this game and I am now looking forward to May!
Beyond Good and Evil which I have to say I did not become a fan of. It is fairly clunky (and buggy), the stealth sections suck ass and the story is mediocre. It is fairly short at least (it took me a good two hours under hltb with 93% completion and all achievements)
