Here's something a bit different that you'll see in our "next week on Xbox" roundup this weekend!

Bad Cheese is coming to Xbox Series X, Series S and Xbox One on September 1st, and it's described as a psychological horror game that clearly borrows from the early 1900s era of animation - similar to the upcoming Mouse: P.I. For Hire.

In Bad Cheese, you'll play as a mouse who's trying to keep the peace in the family household while Mom's away, with your goal being to avoid the wrath of your dysfunctional dad. As part of this, you'll have to complete various household tasks and ultimately navigate your way around a homestead with many corpses in its closets.

There is actually a very short demo for Bad Cheese on Steam already, and it has a "Very Positive" rating based on the 119 people who have voted on it. The overall atmosphere of the game is getting a lot of praise in particular so far.

We'll leave you with some more details about Bad Cheese down below, and you can look forward to checking this one out from next Monday. It isn't yet available for pre-order on Xbox, but we think the price will be £11.69 / $12.99.

Bad Cheese is a psychological horror game inspired by the eerie charm of 1920s animation. Step into the tiny paws of a mouse spending the weekend at home with a dysfunctional Dad while Mom's away. Be on your best behavior and KEEP DADDY HAPPY.

Complete tasks, eat snacks, find toys, and navigate the "complicated family dynamic. Experience the gruesome reality of a child-mouse trying to maintain a sense of normalcy in a not-so-normal household. Every family has a corpse in the closet and in this house, there are many closets. Hand-drawn art combined with a 16mm film-inspired aesthetic will make you feel like you're watching a scary cartoon from the golden era of animation.
