Mafia: Trilogy (Xbox One)

Okay, this one is cheating a little bit but bear with us - Mafia: Trilogy has been going so cheap as of late that we felt like we had to include it in this list! Currently an absolute bargain for three great period third-person adventures (and possibly cheaper still if you check the 'Deals for You' tab on Xbox), this is a collection well worth adding to your game list. 2020's Mafia: Definitive Edition remake is a particular highlight; and a great way to get into the series ahead of this summer's Mafia: The Old Country.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (Xbox Series X|S)

Prior to Eidos Montreal delivering Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, we really didn't know what to expect - Marvel titles as of late haven't always had the best track record, truth be told. GOTG is a real standout Marvel game though, with amazingly vibrant visuals, a very likeable crew of cronies and an adventure that's worth heading out on - even if you're not a full-on Marvel geek! This one's a few years old now as well, which means you can take advantage of a pretty steep discount for it on Xbox.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (Xbox One)

It seems as though we always end up including Red Dead Redemption 2 in one of these curated sales lists, but this is an Xbox game you simply must play if you haven't already. RDR2 contains a 50-hour storyline that we just couldn't turn away from, with Arthur Morgan and his ragtag crew delivering some of the most human stories we've ever witnessed in gaming. Thanks to Xbox One X support this is also the best way to play the game right now on console, with gorgeous 4K visuals bringing an amazingly realised world to life. Right, let's get back on the horse for another playthrough!

Resident Evil 2 (Xbox One)

With Resident Evil Requiem now announced and not far off, some of you might be looking for an excuse to head back into the world of RE; a fresh jumping in point if you will. Well, for that, we can't recommend Resident Evil 2 enough. Capcom expertly reimagined its 90s classic with real style back in 2019, and we keep finding ourselves wanting to revisit the Raccoon City Police Department over and over again. Resident Evil 7 would be another good jumping in point, but we really think RE2 is the way to go - and with Requiem supporting third-person gameplay and heading back to a destroyed R.P.D., why not give this one a go first on Xbox. You won't regret it!

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 (Xbox Series X|S)

Most of Xbox's big first-party titles usually miss out on these lists because of their inclusion in Xbox Game Pass, but Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is curiously missing from the library right now - and it's absolutely worth playing before 3+4 hits XGP next month! It was absolutely hype to see Activision's famous Tony Hawk series grace our screens once again back in 2021, and this stellar remake of the first two games was the perfect way to re-introduce the series. There's every chance this one hits Game Pass eventually, but there's no sign of that ahead of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 landing next month, and this would be a great way to get familiar with the franchise again in the meantime.
