Oh no! My local Game are doing midnight release. It might be a late night!!!
Well we did go to midnight release. Got there at 23:50 expecting a queue as Guitar Hero Live was also a midnight release. Including us and the two staff on the tills...there were 10 people in the shop! HAHA One of the sales assistants (who was excellently dressed as Evie) was saying a lot of people are waiting to hear reviews before committing after AC Unity.
I left the Wife playing Syndicate around 00:45 this morning as I had to be up for work at 8:00...she's still asleep so I cannot get a 'first thoughts' from her.
Congrats! I'm jealous... mind you if I'd got it last night I think I might not have made it into work today [cough] [cough] lol.
Shame you never got to play it though - would have been cool to read your first impressions. I'm just constantly refreshing the UPS tracking page waiting for my copy to be delivered... I did get the codes for the runaway train mission and the season pass by email this morning... but not much I can do with those at the moment!
@stylon: Yeah. By the time it said ready to play (and downloaded the patch!)...I was at the point where I needed to sleep or I'd be up all night! I was tempted by the latter [that dreaded man-flu got me, Boss] but resisted. Hope your UPS delivery is nice n early so you can play.

@R4PT0RGaming: It's been on my xbox almost solidly since yesterday lunchtime. When I stop playing to give my eyes a break, the Wife takes over on her save game...it's THAT good. I really like the setting of old London and Ubi have removed the crap that spoiled previous versions (multiplayer, companion app, over-crowded streets, etc). It seems to be running a lot smoother too. Only spotted a couple of NPCs in odd places (one standing on water and one with arms and legs sticking out of a pillar). The map itself isn't massively over-crowded with icons - there's lots to do/find but it seems 'cleaner' than Unity. Hope you enjoy playing too.

Ive seen and heard a lot of great things about it! Cannot wait to finish these set of shifts and get as much time before like you said the missis bothers me with food and other important stuff! the setting is perfect and like previously mentioned the ripper DLC is a great addition and i am pleased Ubisoft gave this game a clean release...like star wars episode 1, Unity never happend! Everything sounds great and i love the difference between the two assassins a nice touch and fully customizable! Hopefully i can review the dang thing but with Halo round the corner lol definately Broketober for time!
"Who's a good horse? ..... you are". They really need to give Jacob more to say when driving the horse and carriages... either that or get him to shut up as hearing this repeatedly kind of spoils the atmosphere.
Also seem to have found a bug completting 'a spoonful of syrup' - I chase the guy through the sewers then take a carriage ride to a factory, kidnap the boss (undetected), interrogate him and then the mission abruptly ends and it fails me on getting some plans - but I never get an objective to do so? I've tried to complete it twice now with the same result

You sir, are not wrong. The "Who's a good horse..." bit was funny once, but the fortieth time it grates just a bit.

I have to say im really impressed with this game the strong characters and gameplay are perfect and the upgrading and ability to swap between stealth and brite force is a clever twist to the game aaaaaaand its not broken!!!
I completely agree I think that dropping the online part of the game and focussing on getting a clean release and not being broken they have given us a solid great game!
First lot of DLC is out - new Steampunk Gear, weapons and Costumes for both Evie and Jacob. Will be nabbing these tonight myself as they're included with the Season pass - they look pretty cool!
I'm about 40 hours in and still loving it. Just completed the 'surprise non-victorian' section which actually was a little bit of a let-down (started off well enough but then became very samey) but otherwise it's my favourite AC for years.
Wish they'd hurry up with the Jack the Ripper DLC, can't wait to play that!
I think this year they really had to pull it out the bag with the awful release of Unity and i am likewise loving the game i think they nailed the gta esque switch between the characters well and the upgrades are well done! Not having online might of polished the game and for me it really shows looking forward to getting an all nighter on it tonight not played the dlc but we will give it a whirl bravo ubisoft you didnt mess this up! I would like more present day story fleshed out but we will see at the end

The Wife's been playing ACS since around 10am, so I'm not sure if the DLC has downloaded for us. Must admit I'm really looking forward to the Jack-the-ripper DLC now.

Edited that bit now. Have to say I preferred the surprise bit in Unity... although Syndicates was longer they really missed an opportunity to make it a stand out feature. I'm also totally stuck trying to find my last helix and chest in that memory too :- (
