Yup. I really liked what I played from Starfield. Loved the atmosphere when night falls on a planet you're mostly alone on. Great game but I couldn't play it... because it feels too much like a Bethesda game and all I could think was I'd rather being playing a new Elder Scrolls.
@GuyinPA75 And their games were considerably more buggy when they were on a shorter development cycle. The bugs today pale in comparison to the Daggerfall days.
The Ori games are masterpieces in their genre, but I'd rather keep them like that than to let greed take over and milk their cow dry. Let the company try other genres and spend time thinking about other games, because that could just as well provide insight and ideas to what would make an amazing Ori 3 rather than getting some rushed, doesn't-live-up-to-its-predecessors type game.
@Romans12 Games are also becoming more and more complex and time intensive to make. Gamers complain when companies rush and release unfinished products. Gamers complain when companies take their time and release more finished products.
@Tharsman Seems like a lot of nonsense in your first part (though spot on in the rest). No amount of royalties from this game is going to change anything in her messaging and how it gets out in the world and amplified or the size of her platform... at all.
First, she's already rich. She doesn't need money to "get her message out" beyond what she has.
Second, she "gets her message out" on a completely free platform that is as big as it gets as a singular place, and then that gets amplified for free from news articles and online trans "activists." There's nothing money can do that free services and free outrage isn't already accomplishing.
There is nothing that buying this game and her getting royalties is going to contribute to the ongoing saga between bigots arguing with bigots on the internet. You are spot on that hate being fought with hate is not the way forward.
And your first statement is what I disagree with the most. It doesn't matter what she says, she deserves to be compensated for what she created if it's still being worked with and turned into amazing experiences for people. Suggesting someone shouldn't profit from the world they created seems indefensible, and worse than people yelling at each other on the internet.

@sixrings Video game news site, and journalism. Choose one.
But someone acting like a child, telling everyone how they're just not using this site anymore, is unnecessary, and only makes them look like a tool.
You're not owed anything by the people who run this site, and literally nobody in the comments cares about whatever nonsense you're hung up on.
