@VenomousAlbino And you're right, it didn't get many good reviews and SEGA from what I gather removed mentions of it because it had a low metacritic score.
I remember back in the day that I felt the game was getting bad press and that it was underserved. Recently I've seen people change their opinions for a more favorable one. In a way I feel like people were coming from Sonic 06 and that whole disaster and were fed up, that might have influenced it a little bit. All speculation of course.

Night stages can be debated but if you look as a whole, the game is very well polished and you can see they really did try to make a quality game.
Completely understand that you might dislike it, but I think it is unfair to say it is a bad game.
