Re: A 3GB Patch Awaits Evolve Players on Launch Day

Rezalack

I'm getting this first thing in the morning.. then I will have to spend the rest of the day downloading it, heh. Oh well, I'm pretty psyched to try it. The idea of playing a support class or healer in an FPS is such a cool concept to me, I'm more excited to play that than to play a Monster.

@SuperKMx I loved Zombi U, another seriously underrated game. I liked the premise of playing a different person every time you died and I liked the setting. There are things that I thought might improve the game though, like weapon durability and stamina and a better experience system.. Dying Light brought all of these things to the table. I have to say though that Zombi U was definitely a better survival horror. Going through the mansion and some of those levels were genuinely scary. The teleporting-electric-nurse-zombie thing scared the crap out of my when I was in that school basement.

@SuperKMx You know.. I didn't think about that. Maybe I had the upgraded agility at that point, but it seemed pretty early in the game so I'm not sure. I jumped from the roof and failed and tried it again and made it. Like I said though that building did stump me for a bit, but I like when games stump me.

Sorry after reading my post again I sound like an arrogant douche. Maybe just being a little defensive since I like the game so much. Not even a fan of zombie games in general, this is the first one I've played in quite a while.. actually, since Zombi U and I can't even name one I played previous to that.

@VictorySong I haven't come across any bugs. The only thing that bothers me about this game is that it's kind of hard to get online matches in "Be the Zombie" it takes about 3-4 attempts to get a match started. That's my biggest gripe with this game because that is fun as heck. Best way to describe it is.. you're zombie spider-man. You have tentacles you use to sling you around the landscape and to hunt down your prey. You gain experience with that, too, so you're weak to begin with and aren't nearly as strong as the Hunters in the game. You're vulnerable to give the human players a fair chance. It's a bit frustrating at first, but once you learn to use your summon zombie spit well and get some defensive moves, it's a lot better.

Don't agree with this score at all. Never played Dead Island because I didn't think it looked all that fun, this on the other hand, is not only fun, but thrilling to a certain extent with the atmosphere and the sense of danger in everything you do. I'd give it an 8.

I didn't have any trouble judging how far my character can jump or anything like that after running around town freely for 5-10 minutes. You REALLY learn how to climb when you get to the radio tower. This is the real test/tutorial when it comes to that.. and I plummeted to my death the first time. It was great. This game really puts fear into you, whether it be running for your life at night, climbing high areas, or debating on using loud weapons knowing that you're going to summon some very fast and angry zombies. It almost always has me at the edge of my seat.

You complained about getting on the roof of that building.. Here's an idea, get on the roof next to it and jump over. I'll admit, this took me about 5 minutes to figure out and I tried multiple other ways of doing it before I had that "OH! Derp." moment. You say the game feels unbelievably glitchy, Really? I haven't experienced nor felt one glitch and I've been playing about 20 hours. I can't think of one thing that would count as a glitch. I had a zombie get sucked into a sliding door once that looked kind of weird, but it was actually hilarious. That's about it.

Re: Unofficial Xbox One Chatpad Now On Sale

This would be great for future mmo's that come to Xbox One.. as well as pretty much any other online game that supports text chat, IE: Smite.

I'd be tempted to get this at a decent price and if I knew I'd be using it a lot. As of right now I can't see myself ever using it seeing as I barely ever message anyone and if I do it's a very small and to the point message, lol.

@stylon You shouldn't be ashamed to admit that you lost to the first boss. I did multiple times, then again, I was trying to beat him without getting hit. Playing a Rogue makes you severely gimpy as well, at least in the beginning. This was a great game and I'm really glad they are releasing another one. I expect them to build a lot on what they started and make a much more polished and hopefully a little more difficult experience. This game did have it's challenging moments, but most of them lied within trying to beat the bosses in the "special" way of doing it. It had a few enemies that were pretty annoying, too.

Looking forward to the sequel.

I'm glad to finally have this.. only problem is, it's really slow and my shows constantly stutter. Anyone else having this problem? Netflix and Hulu never give me this kind of trouble.

@DRL I didn't think the game was that scary. At least it wasn't too me. It had some creepy and disturbing stuff, but nothing that had me scared. Zombi U had scarier moments. Not to say that there weren't moments that had me at the edge of me seat. It definitely has those.

This is still a really good game and the review score is definitely fair.

Re: Review: Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor (Xbox One)

I just 100%'d this game yesterday. I'd say it's of Batman: Arkham City in caliber. It was an easy 9 out of 10. The only thing that bothered my was the anti-climactic ending. Other than that, It was a really addicting and WELL put together game. It just kept amazing me with all the different kills, the variety of what the Uruks would say, just the all around effort you could feel they put into this game. The stealth, the fighting, and the ranged all felt real good and it never got old.

My only suggestion if you play it.. Don't do what I did. I did all the side quests before I finished the game and maxed out my character making things kind of easy. The game actually starts out pretty challenging and you can die easily, which I find to be a good thing. It took my 33 hours to 100% and I loved every minute of it.

If you're a fan of the Batman: Arkham games.. get this. It's basically that in Middle-Earth, but probably better because of the Nemesis system. The open world is huge, too. It really opens up half-way through the story.

I'm 1 light point from 22 right now, all I need is a chest piece with light on it.. I got an engram for one last night and it was a mote of light.. -_-

This game is really fun though. Some of the strikes and missions can be really hard so it's an automatic like in my books. The pvp is great, too.. except the lack of being able to talk to your random teams. It'd be nice to communicate..
