Lmao now everyone suddenly hates it and nitpicks on it because it’s from a Sony studio, to me it’s still the best exclusive game on Xbox that’s actually still exclusive.
If MS would’ve bought Insomniac back then it’d have created more value for the Xbox brand than both Bethesda and ABK buyouts.
The first campaign that hooked me and finish it in 3 days since the Xbox 360 days, I’m genuinely surprised at how well put together it is and the variety for each mission, those mannequins will give me nightmares lmao
@TheGiraffe I totally get you, I got a Rog Ally back in May to give it a go at PC gaming because Xbox’ doom and gloom but every single time I used it I ended up frustrated and not having fun at all, I already sold it and I’m just baffled at what to do now.
I don’t want to invest much in PS5 as every game is way more expensive here, nor in Switch as every third-party looks and runs worse, Xbox was my go-to for most games but I struggle to invest in a platform that even its parent company doesn’t believe in…
@Fiendish-Beaver Nah, I like the guy, he genuinely seems like a friendly person but he failed at his job, there’s no way around it, and because he failed it’s why Nadella and corporate MS are now taking the decisions in MS Gaming, no longer Xbox.
Too late. Pandora’s box has been opened and now inevitably every single game Microsoft announces it’s going to be questioned when it’s coming to other platforms.
And how they announced Indy was what pissed off a lot of people, treating it like the one more thing announcement in Keighley’s event as it’d be the definitive version of the game, almost as if they wanted to prevent anyone from getting an Xbox just for this game, absurdly bad optics for Xbox…
@Lup I also thought it was good for MS to give a budget option for next-gen back in 2020 but time has proven that it has been more a hassle for developers, customers and even MS than just having the Series X.
@acmiguens There hasn’t been any single IP from Sony that has made its way to Xbox, none at all, in fact it’s more feasible that it arrives on a Nintendo platform than Xbox, just see Lego Horizon.
I actually have most third-party games on Xbox and just buy exclusives for PlayStation and Nintendo respectively, but lately after this year’s baffling news from corporate MS I’m trying to move away from buying on Xbox tbh.
With all due respect Aaron Greenberg should’ve lost his job years ago, I mean he’s responsible for Xbox marketing and PR, yet Xbox’ marketing is almost non existent and has been abysmal for 2 generations in a row!
It’s so baffling they didn’t come up with a Series X|S bundle with either the game or 3 months of Game Pass.
Sony launched a bundle with PS4 or PS5 every single year they had marketing for Call of Duty since 2015, but Xbox marketing keeps being absolutely stupid and clueless.
I didn’t even know there was a head of Xbox Game Studios aside from Matt Booty, and I don’t really know how to feel about this move since Xbox Game Studios’ output has been very lackluster only delivering Hellblade 2 this year and Forza last year, but Rare’s has been even worse with them only having Sea of Thieves back in 2018 and Everwild in development hell for half a decade…
Literally everything changed for the worse, the Xbox brand is in disarray, only 3 titles have arrived on Game Pass, they’ve worsen the service with the tiers and priced up Ultimate substantially.
One year later the single only good thing for customers is that we’re getting Black Ops 6 on Game Pass, but it literally costed the Xbox brand, wasn’t worth it imo.
Infinite because the gameplay was at its best for the entire saga imo, they really had a solid foundation but the campaign fell short and they took 2 years to take the multiplayer out of beta, but still better than Halo 4 (my second pick) and Halo 5 which nearly killed the saga tbh.
Hopefully not, and not because I don’t want PS gamers to enjoy these games, but because the platform needs to retain some identity and once they launch Halo on any competing console the Xbox brand is gone for good.
@Dsswoosh You really think UE5 can’t deliver smooth gameplay for multiplayer?
Just take a look at Fortnite running at 120 FPS, being on several platforms (literally every one) and even achieving 60 FPS on Switch, with proper optimization it can have rock solid performance for a generation to come.
@Elbow More than studio’s name the big news here is the switch to Unreal, now every new dev coming to the studio won’t have to spend months trying to get to know the engine and then getting to work on the games themselves, of course it’s a wait and see situation, but for the first time things are looking differently than in the last 10 years.
This is pretty exciting ngl, failed leadership from the very top is gone now, so this new direction have the chance to actually deliver on something special.
The Halo CE remake now makes sense as it’ll allow the studio to familiarize with UE5 and getting to re-learn how to make a great Halo game, if they manage to launch it with the next Xbox it’d be a huge W.
I regret so much buying the Premium upgrade, I didn’t even play that much on early access (since I found the base game boring) and now I won’t play the already paid expansion as it’s seemingly worse than the base game, what a disappointment…
@TheEstablishment That’d be logical but Microsoft doesn’t like logical decisions lol. I think they’re just clearing the way and focusing entirely on Black Ops 6, they’re betting on it to be the biggest launch on Game Pass ever and it should be, otherwise it’s terrible for the future of the service.
Lmfao Avowed was delayed because “too many games” were coming out and now nothing is coming out in November, but in February we already have AC Shadows, MH Wilds, and Avowed.
@SodaPop6548 I read that they can’t have the store and remote play in the same app, that’s why Sony has a separate app for remote play so the App Store’s guidelines allow the PS app to have the store.
I like having everything in one app but I’d rather have the store in the app with remote play being separate as I almost never use it.
@TheOldHunter4K I don’t think it’s all because of mistakes made last generation, they’ve made plenty this gen, like spending half the generation buying publishers talking sh** about your own platform so it gets approved and then suddenly deciding every game isn’t exclusive anymore…
Xbox captures have been unnecessarily convoluted since the Xbox One, can’t believe how easy it is on PS4, PS5 and even the Switch with its limitations, but on Xbox it’s always a mess.
@Banjo- It’s ridiculous to be defending Microsoft at this point. And yes, as a customer I haven’t agreed to MANY of their recent decisions, just because I own an Xbox I should be a blind fanboy you keeps defending and excusing every decision they take? That’s BS.
If you have a problem with that just ignore or report my comments.
Hopefully with this statement some people can stop spreading the fake news that Mikami left taking a big part of the studio with him and that’s why MS was “forced” to close down Tango.
That was debunked the same week the news broke but some people kept excusing MS with this lie.
It’s exhausting that they still want to justify it so hard only to get a performance mode with 60 FPS a couple of months after launch, they should at least target 40 FPS as many recent games have done and I think that’s the sweet spot.
And it’s now clear the Series S is a problem even for first-party studios…
@Banjo- Yes I do as MS is doing it very easy for us to complain in an almost daily basis so far this year, you tried to complain about the camera in a remake without even trying it or researching it yourself but ironically while fixed the Xbox version is the “worst” for the remake since gyroscope controls are actually useful…
@Banjo- Why didn’t you check a gameplay or the demo itself before criticizing it? I just played it and it’s finally fixed but it was obviously expected since the Wii version just didn’t have a second stick to control the camera.
And btw, both PS5 and Switch versions seem better to play since they support gyroscope and it’s pretty important for the gameplay, Xbox doesn’t cause their controllers are stuck with features from 20 years ago.
@armondo36 So you really have no issue that every time they’ve showed the game it has been at 60 FPS but it turns out it only runs at 30? Or the fact that this isn’t the first time the exact same thing has happened? Or that Aaron Greenberg said that 60 FPS was going to be the standard for this generation?
Don’t be so condescending, I personally have no problem playing any game at 30 FPS, but they keep lying to us time and time again and creating false expectations showing us the PC version of the game at 60.
Yes, it’s a ridiculous situation that they haven’t been able to get ONE game performing at 60 FPS at launch on the “world’s most powerful console”.
And it’s even worse they always try to excuse it with “30 FPS is more cinematic” or more recently “you don’t need 60 FPS” only to release a patch 6 months later enabling that performance, it lately feels as if the games we get “day one” on Game Pass Ultimate are beta versions and are patched when the PS5 version releases…
All this going in circles is exhausting, I can’t trust a single word that comes out of Philnocchio’s mouth and for whoever that is still somehow trying to excuse or defend all of this just look how many games are already skipping Xbox for whatever reason.
Personally my problem isn’t that X game goes to PS5, but the fact that the platform is becoming irrelevant, it already is for many developers as it’s the platform with less users and therefore less sales, so no third-party dev prioritizes the Xbox version of their game, causing to launch after other platforms, just like Wukong right now, and some are already choosing to skip the platform altogether.
This is only going to get worse, and it’s starting to look like Windows Phone which struggled to get support from developers to bring their apps, MS in their business greed removed Office mobile exclusivity from WP releasing Office for iOS and Android and it slowly made Windows Phone irrelevant for both users and developers alike, sound familiar?
@BacklogBrad You really think 6 months ago there wasn’t ANY plan to port Indiana Jones to PS5?
The lie is that although it wasn’t a part of the initial 4 games he knew perfectly well there were already plans to port it to PS5 as every single port has to be planned and done with several months or even years in advance, and yet he chose to name Indiana Jones as a game not coming to competing consoles, here we are just half a year later with a 180º turnaround on that statement, how could anyone believe a single word that comes out of his mouth?
