I mean if this is how you're going to treat ultimate gamepass users then just drop cloud gaming altogether from the ultimate tier and create cloud gaming tier instead and just drop the price of ultimate. More people would be okay with that. 15 hours a month just isn't worth it. At this point ultimate tier isn't worth it anymore. I'll either drop down to premium or drop the service all together when my membership runs out.

@M20B25 Maybe so, but I'll still buy it because the first two were great. I think enough people on PlayStation will get a chance to finally try the series. A larger base from PlayStation will give them a chance to stay around. They will have to adapt going forward with new games to have smaller budgets and quicker development times.

@Balaam_ its a bargain for budget gamers, casual gamers, and parents who have younger children who are too young enough to care about the tech.

@TopCatFCD the new xbox will play their console games natively. The xbox app on PC will have to emulate console games. There's no indication that the new xbox will not have a disc drive. Even if it doesn't, they'll add a external disc option for purchase. Btw all xbox one and Series games X|S use x86 CPU which will be compatible with the new CPU in Helix.

@InterceptorAlpha 2K Sports does this to all their titles. NBA 2k sits shuts their servers down and games is almost unplayable. Over the half the game modes are unplayable. After I got burned by it, I'll never purchase a 2k Sports title again.

@Questionable_Duck that you don't have to pay full price for. Plus they haven't released their full August line up yet.

@IOI I mean isn't that the benefit of gamepass, not paying for a port at full price? Plus you get a discount if you want to buy it.

@IOI rn they are, but they're also working on a dongle stick you can plug directly into your TV so you can use gamepass. I'm afraid you don't realize that the future of gaming on consoles doesn't include a console anymore. Rn they're becoming all digital, next phase once 5g becomes stabilized in the next 5~10 years that everyone will be streaming their games. That's the future of gaming. That's why Sony partnered up with Microsoft for their Azure servers. It's not a matter of it anymore, but when.

@UndyingInsurgent95 the plan all along was getting games on gamepass and making gamepass available on as many ventures as possible. MS doesn't care if you get get the hardware or not... they want the sub either through console or PC.

@gollumb82 you do realize Playstation have started releasing their exclusives on PC now. That's the new norm going forward and honestly why should you care if Xbox exclusives go on any other platform? As long as they go on gamepass day one for $15 a month is still a better deal than playing full price on other platforms.

No one cares as long as all the games come to gamepass on day one. $15 a month for ultimate is all I care about and I've been a loyal customer to xbox since 2002.
