@BustedUpBiker You don't need VRR support for 40 FPS docked. You just need a 120Hz TV, but it definitely wouldn't make sense for that to be the only option since not everyone has a 120Hz setup.
@themightyant In Nintendo's defense, that's how they've always done it & they've been doing it a lot longer than X-Box, so it's second nature for Nintendo users.
@GoldenPants I agree with you. The way Microsoft is hyping it up, this premium X-Box seems like it will almost certainly come eventually, but it's definitely a niche device at best. As far as a new entry in the regular console race, I'm not sure that they should even bother. With all the ill will they've garnered in the last few years, it would almost certainly do worse than the current gen in sales.
But to be clear, I don't want to see them gone from that space. Nintendo & Sony already seem to be getting more cocky & that's not a good thing for the consumers. If it's not Microsoft, someone needs to occupy that third slot.
This sounds pretty delusional. They barely sold 2M consoles in 2025. Even the OG Switch sold more. You can't have a "longer tail than usual" when you're on life support.

@Kezelpaso I considered that, but it wouldn't make any sense to do that at all in this case.

How can the quality mode on handheld Switch 2 be 1260p when the screen resolution is 1080p? Has to be a mistake, right?
