Re: Xbox Series X|S Sales Estimates Show Consoles Lagging Far Behind Last-Gen

Faruko

I mean, the sales are bad, there's no other read about it. But i also wonder, is MS really losing in this one? Look at PS5 sales, behind PS4 by a few millions (might or might not catch, doesn't really matter) but with much less competition overall so they are totally moving to PC (or switch, but i kinda feel that someone that had a XB1 would probably own a switch but not as their only console) which is a territory MS has much more power even if they have to share it with Valve.

Re: Xbox's Sarah Bond Initially 'Clashed' With Phil Spencer When Working Together

Faruko

@GamingSince84 After spending more than 70bn, if revenue didn't explore i would worry. Like Microsoft has done, they are pushing Phil/Sarah to get even more money, because it's a margins game, those 70bn could have been spent on much better areas for Microsoft in terms of revenue (Office/Copilot/Windows).

Revenue is one thing, but what about margins and profits? Or you think they are firing people left and right because they are doing so well?

Re: Microsoft Hits Historic $3 Trillion Valuation On Same Day Of Xbox Layoffs

Faruko

Don't worry people, I'm sure games will come out just fine when people are scared about losing their jobs. Don't expect workers to do their best when the fear of being fired is present.

The lack of empathy in this comment section and writers of this site is quite shocking. Guess the few executives writing in this site (because otherwise i don't get how can you agree, accept or understand this decision at all, mostly because you have higher chances of being part of the fired team than the other one) don't care about how important is to have a place with great morale.

The fact that they do this with only the teams that lack unions (which negotiating to form one were supposedly undergoing) makes it downright evil.

Re: Obsidian Was Working On An Xbox One Launch Title...Before It Got Cancelled

@KelticDevil I read some time ago that LucasArts forced Obisidian to release the game before christmass so obsidian had to stop everything they were doing (the content cut from the game) and finished the game as fast as possible (in a clearly rushed state)

People found out dialogue not used, a lot of new places that were never in the game and they started, little by little, to recreate that content and put it in the game.

Re: Obsidian Was Working On An Xbox One Launch Title...Before It Got Cancelled

Faruko

@KelticDevil If you can, give it a try on Steam with the TSLRCM patch it has most of its cut content back on the, almost all bugs fixed and extra stuff...

i have to say that i never played KOTOR 2 when it was released (i did play Kotor 1) so i never experienced all the bugs most people had

That might have something to do with my opinion.

Re: Obsidian Was Working On An Xbox One Launch Title...Before It Got Cancelled

@KelticDevil Just for the record, Obisidian just updated Kotor 2 (!!!!) to give it Widescreen update, achievement and other stuff

  • 37 achievements to be earned through gameplay
  • Steam Cloud saves
  • Native widescreen resolution support
  • Resolution support up to 4K and 5K
  • Support for controllers, including Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, and Playstation 4, along with several others (check the system requirements for details)
  • Steam Workshop support! We proudly worked with the Restored Content Mod team to have their famous TSLRCM up on launch day

Re: Obsidian Was Working On An Xbox One Launch Title...Before It Got Cancelled

@KelticDevil Understandable, and i do think that Fallout 3 was a great game.

But it wasnt a Fallout game, it lack almost everything that did Fallout Fallout, it was an awesome open world rpg but the writing was really subpar and the story was pretty mundane, on the other hand NV its indeed a fallout game, with much better writing, plot and characters.

What i never liked about Bethesda its that all of their games (besides Morrowind, and that game has the edge of being a new kind at the time) feel really really shallow, they made amazing world with lots of exploration and secrets to be found... yet they fail to put an interesting world or characters around it, happened in Skyrim, in Fallout 3 and in a much greater deal in Oblivion.

But thats my opinion , and if you ever have the chance to play PoE, please do it.

Re: Obsidian Was Working On An Xbox One Launch Title...Before It Got Cancelled

Faruko

@KelticDevil Actually... (and obviously IMO) Obsidian has only made better games than the originals they came from, they have a lot of people that worked on the original fallout games

Kotor 2 in terms of story and feeling was much better than Kotor 1, same with NV, which was a much better Fallout game than 3 ever was... they are pretty much one of the best developers when it comes to storytelling, characters and plot driven games. but yes, their games tend to be a little buggy

And Pillars of Eternity might be one of the best cRPG games of all times
