Re: With Project Helix On The Horizon, Xbox Is Now Letting You Add Games Manually On PC

The bigger problem for me with the whole play anywhere Xbox ethos and the Xbox PC app, is that for example, large numbers of games I purchased on XSX are not available via the Xbox app on PC, even though the games are available on PC in that app/store.

They need to sort out how third party titles are handled on their own system, before worrying about Steam et al.

Examples being AC Odyssey or Metro Exodus off the top of my head where my XSX saves have dozens of hours, yet I was required to purchase the game again in the PC app to play on PC, and my XSX cloud saves would not transfer.

Only way to access those saves is to use the awful cloud streaming in the app, even though the damn games are installed locally via the same app.

In instances where I can access my console saves, it is only possible because the publisher have their own cloud save capability e.g. Valhalla.

Will be crazy if I can play my Steam games but not the games I purchased on XSX.

@BustedUpBiker I find the controllers can power my Astro A40's, but the volume is only a couple of clicks from the top so very little headroom. On the plus side, the sound is as vibrant as when using them via a DAC on my PC.

However, it is less than satisfactory with my Sennheiser 598's which I believe are 50 ohms.

Running with the volume set to the maximum, I describe it as barely adequate. You can certainly use them, but there is a difference between getting sound out of them, and the quality and range of that sound.

I.e., when powered via a DAC on my PC, even if I set it to the same tepid volume as achieved by the controller, the sound is considerably richer. The controller doesn’t just struggle to get decent volume, it also leaves it sounding very flat.

Re: New Xbox Head Suggests Bringing Back The Blades Dashboard In First Social Media Posts

Really? Really?

Until I sold my XSX back when the PS5 Pro released, I was a hardcore Xbox player who "mained" Xbox consoles since the original released in the early 00's.

I played games. I spent very little time in the UI.

At no point did I have some kind of fetish for blades, at no point have I had any kind of fandom for a UI or wanted blades to return.

I do think the tile system is looking dated and reminds me of the old Windows phones though, but no, as someone with a soft spot for Xbox I don't have any attachment to blades. Let's move forward.

Re: Xbox 'Magnus' Leak Suggests Next Console Will Be Powerful, Expensive & Maybe A Hybrid Device

Makes no sense.

It appears they are going down the "steambox" road of a PC but in a simple and easy to use console package.

The problem is that for £20 a month with no up-front fee, I can get a top end gaming PC via Geforce Now Ultimate.

It has console-like usability and you get a free-handheld included as you can run it on your phone/tablet.

If the console is £1000....that's four years of Geforce Now Ultimate. At the end of those 4 years, the Xbox is out-of-date, where as GF Now will be running on the latest GPU as you get free upgrades.

As a die hard Xbox fan from day one, that's what I will do. Own a PS5 Pro or PS6, and if I want to play an Xbox game at launch rather than waiting for the PS version, or if it just runs badly on console, I will sub to a month of GF Now just to play that game.
