CD Projekt Red has whipped up and released a hotfix for The Witcher 3 Remastered, specifically addressing issues with the Xbox Series S version.

The Xbox Series S specific patch is intended to improve issues with overall image clarity. According to a few Redditors, Geralt's remastered escapades were running at around ~500p in performance mode. In short, the game looked like blurry cr*p on XSS.

Hotfix 5.01b appears to be the developer's solution, by switching the upscaling solution from TAAU to FSR. Whilst this update is solely available to fix issues with the Xbox Series S, the patch will also apply to the Xbox Series X version too, even though it doesn't appear to do anything.

"Hotfix 5.01b will also be available to download for Xbox Series X players due to the nature of the update delivery system of the platform; however, it does not introduce any changes to that version of the game."

This hotfix follows last week's 5.01 patch, which addressed a whole bunch of bugs, introduced quality of life improvements, and optimised overall performance on Xbox.

I haven't played much of The Witcher 3 Remastered yet, so I'll leave it to you to share your impressions and whether the hotfix, does indeed, fix the issues on Xbox Series S.
