Back in the day, I loved squaring up against pixelated dinos in Turok on the N64. Now, here we are in 2026 with brand new Turok: Origins gameplay footage, and some early impressions from a couple of outlets who played it.

The footage comes courtesy of Champs Network on YouTube, who posted b-roll provided by Saber Interactive showcasing a fight with a big red-eyed dinosaur, plenty of Xenia executions, and a bunch of weapons and abilities to expect upon the full release, sometime during Spring 2027.

All in all, the game looks alright at a glance, but from the limited number of previews I've found floating around, feelings seem to be a bit mixed.

"I went into Turok: Origins expecting to spend 30 minutes wondering why Turok needed to become a co-op shooter. Instead, I came away wanting to play more, which is probably the biggest compliment I can give it. Whether Saber Interactive sticks the landing or not, I'm genuinely curious to see where this particular evolution of Turok goes."

"So come the end of my demo, I was fairly unenthused by the whole thing. Certainly, there’s a potential appeal for some turn-your-brain-off action, and who knows, maybe combat will spice things up a little later on in the game.
